Care & Maintenance
Always wash new cookware prior
to initial use with mild soapy water
(no harsh detergents) and a soft
sponge or dishcloth. Rinse and dry
thoroughly with paper towels or a
soft cloth.
Most dishwasher
detergents can damage
the surface (seasoning).
Hand wash only.
Never use steel wool or
any other abrasive materials that
may scratch the surface of your
cookware.
When using your Cast Iron Grill,
keep the temperature under 575˚F.
After cooking, always allow the grill
to cool completely before cleaning.
Clean stubborn stains with a mild
dish soap and hot water.
Never attempt to cut foods while
they are on the grill. Any misuse
will void the warranty (See Limited
Warranty for details).

Using the Cast Iron Grill
Seasoning your cast iron cookware
before you use it, and on a regular
basis thereafter, is very important. That
coating you put onto it will prevent the
iron from rusting, increasing the longev-
ity of the pan, but it will give you a more
immediate reward for that extra bit of
effort: a smooth, truly nonstick nish.
Since your grill arrives pre-seasoned,
follow these steps to reseason it when
necessary (or change the seasoning oil
if you are allergic to soy products):
1. Wash and dry the grill thoroughly,
making sure no previous seasoning
remains on the cooking surface
2. Rub a very thin, even layer of
cooking oil into the cooking surface
of the cast iron grill. If you use too
much oil, your cookware may be-
come sticky.
3. Place the cookware in the oven,
upside down, on the top rack, and a
large baking sheet or aluminum foil
on the bottom rack underneath.
4. Bake at 450°F–500 degrees F for
one hour, then allow the grill to cool.
Now your cast iron grill is seasoned and
ready for use.
The Cast Iron Grill is
completely oven safe and
compatible with all types of
cooktops simply by removing
the silicone handles.
