Q: I am writing the verification/validation for use of this tachometer to monitor centrifuge speeds of 1500 RPM. Although I have done some research, I am still unclear what the accuracy of +/-(0.03% +2 digits) means for this instrument. Specifically, what does the 2 digits refer to (I found an article that described its use and defined it for multimeters, but could not translate this to the tachometer). Also, 0.03% yields a very tiny allowable margin of error. However, it is in line with every single instrument I found during my search. The resolution for this tachometer when measuring in the 1500 RPM range is 0.1 RPM. How is this related to the +2 digits? Thanks for your help.
