6 Operation
Notes:
To learn how to use the operation panel and understand the LCD, refer to section 2.2 Operation Panel.
To understand how to use the UPS communication interfaces, refer to section 2.3 Rear Panels and section 7 Communication
Interfaces.
6.1 Start-Up Procedures
Once the UPS is connected to the AC utility, the AC utility supplies power to the UPS. To turn on the UPS, press and hold the
button for 3 seconds and release after you hear a beep.
6.2 Shutdown Procedures
1. Line mode: To turn off the UPS, press and hold the button for 3 seconds and release after you hear a beep. The
inverter will turn off and the UPS will transfer to standby mode.
The UPS will continue charging the batteries when the UPS is in standby mode, even though the button has been
pressed. To fully turn off the UPS, it is advised to unplug the power cord.
2. Battery mode: To turn off the UPS, press and hold the button for 3 seconds and release after you hear a beep. The
UPS will turn off its output.
6.3 Cold Start
Even when there is no utility power, you can still turn on the UPS. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds and release
after you hear a beep. The UPS will start up and run in battery mode.
6.4 Alarm Silence Function
If the alarm is on, press the button and the alarm will be silenced. If any new alarm event occurs, the alarm will be turned
on again.
6.5 Battery Test
Note: Battery tests can only be performed in line mode and in AVR mode.
To perform a battery test, press and hold the button for 3 seconds and release after you hear a beep. The UPS will
transfer to battery mode and perform a 10-second battery test.
If the test result is normal: The LCD will display ‘PAS’ and the UPS will return to line mode or AVR mode (in accordance with
its original operation mode).
If the test result is abnormal: The LCD will display ‘FAL’, the LEDs will flash, the warning icon and no-battery/battery
replacement icon will illuminate and the UPS will return to line mode or AVR mode (in accordance with its original
operation mode).
