Care and cleaning of the refrigerator, gecom
Dispenser drip area.
Cleaning the Outside
The dispenser drip area, (on some models)
beneath die glille, should be wiped dD_._M_ter
left in dais area may leave deposits. Remove
the deposits by adding undilumd vinegar m
the well. Soak until the deposits disappear
or become loose enough m Iinse away:
Thedispenser cradle (on some models).
Before cleaning, lock die dispenser by
pressing and holding the tOCKCONrROt
pad for 3 seconds. Clean with warn1 wamr
and baking soda solution--about a
tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda m a
quart (1 1) ofwamL Rinse thoroughly
and wipe dry:
Thedoor handles and trim. Clean with a
clod1 (lampened wkh soap), wateL Dry
with a soft cloth.
Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a clean
clod1 lighdy dampened wifll kitchen
appliance wax or mild liquid dish demzgent.
Dry and polish with a clean, soft cloth.
Stainless steel door panel and handles.
The stainless steel panels can be cleaned
with a commerciaUy available stainless steel
cleaner or a similar product using a clean,
soft cloth. Do not use appliance wax, polish.
bleach or products containing chlorine on
stainless steel doors.
Do not wipe the refrigeratorwith a soileddish
clothor wet towel Thesemayleavea residue
thatcanerodethepaint.Do not usescouring
pads,powderedcleaners,bleachor cleaners
containingbleachbecausetheseproductscan
scratchandweakenthepaint finish.
Cleaning the Inside
To help prevent odors, leave an open box of
baking soda in tile refligemtor and fleezer
compartments.
Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. If dais
is not practical, wzJng excess moisture out
of sponge or clod1 when cleaning around
switches, lights or conuols.
Use warm wamr and baking soda solution--
about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda
m a quart (1 1) ofwamL This both cleans
and neumdizes odozs. Rinse and wipe dzy.
AtYer cleaning file door gaskets, apply a
fllin layer of peuoleumjelly m file door
gaskets at the hinge side. This helps keep
the gaskets fiom sticking and bending out
of shape.
Drain opening in freezer compartment.
Duxing yearly cleaning, remove bottom
freezer pan and flush a solution of baking
soda--l teaspoon (5 ml) and 2 cups (500
ml) of hot (not boiling) water-- through
the drain line with the help of a meat
basteL This will help eliminate odor and
reduce the likelihood of a clogged drain
line. If drain becomes clogged, use a meat
basmr and baking soda solution to force the
clog through the drain line.
Avoidcleaningcoldglassshelveswith hot water
becausethe extremetemperaturedifferencemay
causethemto break.Handleglassshelves
carefully.Bumpingtemperedglasscancauseit
to shatter.
Do not wash anyplastic refrigeratorparts in the
dishwasher.
Condenser
There is no need for routine condenser
cleaning in nomml home operating
envirolmlents. Howevez; in elwironnlents
dmt may be pazticularly dusty or greasy, die
condenser should be cleaned periodically
for efficient refrigerator operation.

The condenser is located inside the back
of the refligeramL To access it, first unplug
the refligemtoL Then remove the access
coveL The condenser is on the right side.
