TO REPLACE MOWER DRIVE BELT
MOWER DRIVE BELT REMOVAL (See Fig°25) -
o Parktractoron a levelsurface,,Engage parkingbrake°

ADJUSTMENTS
TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 26)
Park the tractor on level surface_ Engage parking brake,
° Remove mower ddve belt (See'`TO REPLACE MOWER
• Remove four screws from Loll. mandrel cover and
remove cover,
° Roll belt over the top of L.H. mandrel pulley_
° Remove belt from engine puItey_
• Remove belt from idler pulleys_
° Remove any dirt or grass clippings which may have
accumulated around mandrels and entire upper deck
surface,
° Check primary idler arm and two idlers to see that they
rotate freely.
MOWER DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION (See Fig. 25) -
° Install belt in both idlers. Make sure belt is in both belt
keepers at the idlers as shown°
• Install new belt onto engine puIley.
° Ro!l belt into upper groove of L.H. mandrel pulley**
o Carefully check beit routing making sure belt is in the
grooves correctly and inside belt keepers.
• Reassemble LH. mandrel cover,,

Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manual)_
Remove four screws from R.Ho mandrel cover and
remove cover°
°
°
. Disconnect secondary clutch rod from pivot rod by
removing retainer spnng
o Carefully roll belt off R,,H. mandrel pulley.
. Remove belt from center mandrel pulley, idler pulley,
and L.H. mandrel pulley°
° Remove any dirt or grass which may have accumu-
lated around mandrels and entire upper deck surface.
- Check secondary idler arm and idler to see that they
rotate freely.
• Be sure spring is hooked in secondary idler arm and
sway-bar bracket.
o Install new belt in lower groove of L,,H.mandrel pulley,
idler pulley, and center mandrel pulley as shown.
• Roll belt over R_H.mandrel pulley. Make sure belt is in
all grooves properly.
° Reconnect secondary clutch rod to pivot rod with
retainer spring°
• Reinstall RoHomandrel cover.

Reinstall mower to tractor (See "INSTALL MOWER
AND DRIVE BELT" in the Assembly section of this
manual).
Reassemble mower drive belt (See "TO REPLACE
MOWER DRIVE BELT in this section of this manual)°
