Battery Warranty Information
The SMART700HG and SMART1200XLHG contain lead acid batteries designed to be connected
continuously to an AC power source, except during brief power outages. They are not intended
for frequent charge/discharge cycles, such as mobile cart applications where the UPS is often
disconnected from an AC power source. Using the SMART700HG or SMART1200XLHG in this
type of applications will void the Tripp Lite battery warranty and battery replacement will be the
user’s responsibility. For mobile applications, a UPS system with a lithium iron phosphate battery
is recommended, such as Tripp Lite’s SMART700HG or SMART1200XLHG. Lithium iron phosphate
batteries provide up to 10,000 cycles, 20-30 times the cycle life of traditional batteries, making
them ideal for mobile cart applications. Visit www.tripplite.com for more information.
Regulatory Compliance
UL CLASSIFICATION FOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT: Class I, Type B, Ordinary Equipment, Continuous Operation.
UL1778 APPROVAL: All the UPS systems described in this manual are UL1778 listed. All meet strict requirements for UPS
protection. They provide battery backup during blackouts, switching between utility power and battery backup power in 2-4
milliseconds. In addition, all have hospital-grade plugs and receptacles that reduce the possibility of accidental equipment
disconnection. All are suitable for use in hospitals, outside patient care areas.
UL60601-1 APPROVAL: Several of the UPS models described in this manual are UL 60601-1 listed (see specifications). They
incorporate Faraday-shielded isolation transformers that reduce the cumulative leakage current of all connected equipment to below
100 microamps. These models are suitable for use in hospitals, including inside patient care areas.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS:
For the purpose of regulatory compliance certifications and identification, your Tripp Lite product has been assigned a unique series
number. The series number can be found on the product nameplate label, along with all required approval markings and information.
When requesting compliance information for this product, always refer to the series number. The series number should not be
confused with the marketing name or model number of the product.
