Blocking Specific Content Themes
You can block programs based on |heir content. (Content is represented by the
D, L, S, V, FV and TV-Y on your screen. See the beginning of lllis section for
details.) When you [)lock a content theme for a particular radng, you
automatically [)hock that content theme for higher rated programs as well.
For example, if you do not want your child to watch programs that have adult
language (L) rated TV-PG or highei, then you could [)lock out all programming
TV-PG and above containing adult language.
To [)lock program content:
1. Determine the lowest level of content you don't want the child to watch.
2. Press MENU on the remole 0he MENUappears).
3. Select TVSET-UP, then press ENTER.
4. Select V-CHIP SET, then press ENTER.
5. Enter your password, then press ENTER Qhe V-CHIP SETmenu appears).
6. Select TVRATING. If you have selected a rating limil that contains content
you can [)lock, dm screen displays Call to Set Contents.
7. Press CALL on the remote 0he RATING SET screen appears).
8. Press the down arrow to select the content you want to [)lock. Press ENTER
to turn ONthe content.
9. Press the MENU button until the MENUscreen disappears.
Notes: Broadcasters are not required toprovide conterzt themes or age-
based ratings. Programs received with no content themes will only be
blocked if you block their age-based rating.
You must remember to turn on V-CHIP fi_r rating limits to take effect.

V-Chip Movie Rating
You set rrlovie rating limits by blocking rrlovies rated above a specified level.
To access the MOVIE RATING menu:
1. Press MENU on the remole 0he MENUappears).
2. Select TVSET:UP, then press ENTER.
3. Select V-CHIP SET, then press ENTER.
4. Enter your password, then press ENTER Qhe V-CHIP SETmenu appears).
5. Select MOVIE RATING, then press ENTER.
6. Press the up or down arrow button to display the lowest rating you don't
want the child to watch. (In the example, you would want to select PG-13
since the highest rating you want the child to watch is PG).
7. Press ENTER to confirm tlle rating you have chosen.
8. Press the MENU button until the MENUscreen disappears.
