How to Set the Oven for Cleaning
Quick Reminder:
1. Prepare the oven for cleaning°
2. Close and latch the oven door°
3. Press the AUTO CLEAN or AUTO SELF
CLEAN pad.
4. Press the + or - pad°
If you wish to change the preset Clean Time of 3
hours, press the + or - pad until the desired Stop
Time appears in the display.
1. Follow the directions in the Before a Clean Cycle
section.
2. Close the oven door and slide
the latch handle to the right as
far as it wilt go°
Never force the door latch
handle. Forcing the handle
may damage the door lock
mechanism.
3. Press the AUTO CLEAN or AUTO
SELF CLEAN pad_
4. Press the + or - pad until the desired Clean Time
is displayed.
The Clean Time is normally 3 hours° You can change
the Clean Time to any time between 2 and 4 hours,
depending on the amount of soil in your oven°
The self-clean cycle will automatically begin
after "CLEAN" is displayed and the word "ON"
appears in the display. When the oven heats to a
high temperature, the word "LOCK" will be displayed
and a short time later, the door latch handle will be
locked in position. It will not be possible to open the
oven door until the LOCK light goes off and the oven
lllllllr.k has cooled below locking temperature.
5. When the LOCK light is off,
slide the latch handle to the
Ieft as far as it wiU go and "d'=iaiIl|ll!
open the door.
To Stop a Clean Cycle
Press the CLEAR]OFF pad. This will stop the cleaning cycle but
you will not be able to open the door unti! the oven cools below the
locking temperature
After a Clean Cycle
When the clean cycle is finished, the word "CLEAN"
will go out in the display and the oven will begin to
cool. When the oven temperature has fallen below the
locking tempera_re, the word "LOCK" goes out and
the door can be opened.
After a clean cycle, you may notice some white ash
in the oven. Just wipe it up with a damp cloth.
If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-filled
steel woo! pad..Be sure m rinse thoroughly with a
vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are usually a
salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle.
If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, the cycle
may be repeated.
