Problem Possible cause Solution
The mower fails to start The safety key is not inserted in the slot.
The battery pack is depleted.
The battery pack is not attached to the
mower.
The battery pack is on the wrong side.
Battery or mower circuitry is too hot.
The handle is not set at one of the
operating positions.
Mower deck is clogged with grass and
debris.
Insert the safety key.
Charge the battery pack.
Attach the battery pack to the mower.
Move the battery pack to the correct side of
the battery compartment.
Allow the battery pack or mower to cool down.
Adjust the handle to the one of the operating
positions.
Clean the mower deck and make certain that
the blade has freedom of movement.
The mower cuts unevenly. Dull blade.
The cutting height is not set properly.
The blade is assembled incorrectly.
Sharpen or replace blade.
Raise the blade to a higher setting.
Reassemble the blade, following the section
"Replacing the Cutting Blade" in this manual.
Mower stops while
mowing.
The battery pack is depleted.
Mower is in overload condition.
Mower deck is clogged with grass and
debris.
Battery or mower circuitry is too hot.
Charge the battery pack.
Raise cutting height or slow down the mowing.
Unclog mower deck. Raise cutting height, or
cut a narrow swath.
Allow the battery pack or mower to cool down.
Mower does not mulch
properly.
Wet grass clippings are sticking to the
underside of the deck.
Mulching plug is missing.
The mower is set to cut too much grass.
Wait until the grass dries before mowing.
Install the mulching plug.
Raise the blade to a higher setting.
Excessive vibration Cutting blade is loose.
Cutting blade is unbalanced.
Bent cutting blade.
Bent motor shaft.
Tighten the blade bolt.
Balance the blade following the instructions.
Replace the blade.
Contact the service center at 1-800-618-7474.
Handle not in position Carriage bolts not seated properly.
Handle knobs not tightened.
Adjust the height of the handle and make sure
the carriage bolts are seated properly.
Tighten handle knobs.
