Ignitor Check
Turn gas off at LP tank. Pushandholdelectronicignitor
buttonor pushin andturnsideburnerknobcounter-
clockwise."Clicks"shouldbe heardand sparkseen each
timebetweencollectorboxor burnerand electrode.See
"Troub/eshooting"if noclick or spark.
Valve Check
Important:Make sure gas is OFF at LP tank before
checking valves. Knobslockin OFF position.To check
valves,firstpushinknobsandrelease,knobsshouldspdng
back.ifknobsdon'tspringback,replacevalveassembly
beforeusinggrill.Turnknobsto LOW positionthenturnback
to OFF position.Valvesshouldturnsmoothly.
Hose Check
Beforeeachuse,checktosee if hosesarecutorworn.
Replacedamagedhosesbeforeusinggrill.Useonlyvalve/
hose/regulatorspecifiedby manufacturer.
Cleaning The Burner Assembly
Followtheseinstructionstocleanand/orreplacepartsofburner
assemblyorifyouhavetroubleignitinggdlL
1. Turngasoff at controlknobsand LP tank.
2. Removecookinggrates,flametamers,greasetrayandgrease
receptacle.
3. Removecotterpinsfrom beneatheachburner'=foot"usinga
screwdriverorneedlenosepliers,
4. Carefullylifteachburnerupandawayfromvalveopenings,
Wesuggestthreewaystocleantheburnertubes.Usetheone
easiestforyou.
(A) Benda stiffwire(a lightweightcoathangerworkswell)
intoa smallhook.Runthehookthrougheachburnertube
andburnerseveraltimes.
(B) Usea narrowbottlebrushwitha flexiblehandle(donot
usea brasswirebrush),runthe brushthrougheachburner
tubeandburnerseveraltimes.
(C) Weareye protection:Usean airhosetoforceairintothe
burnertubeand outtheburnerports.Checkeachperttomake
sureair comesouteachhole.
5, Wirebrushentireoutersurfaceofburnertoremovefood
residueanddirt.
6. Cleananyblockedportswitha stiffwiresuchasan openpaper
clip.
7. Checkburnerfordamage,due to normalwearand corrosion
some holesmay becomeenlarged.If any largecracksor holes
are foundreplacebumer.
VERY IMPORTANT:Burnertubes must reengage valve
openings.
8. Carefullyreplaceburners.
9. Replacecotterpinbeneatheach burner.
10. Replacegreasetray andreceptacle,flametamers,and
cookinggrates.
General Grill Cleaning
Do notmistakebrownor blackaccumulationof greaseand
smokefor paint. Interiorsofgasgrillsarenotpaintedatthe
factory (and should never be painted),Applya strong
solutionofdetergentandwateror usea grillcleanerwith
scrubbrushto insidesofgrilllidand bottom.Rinseandallow
to completelyair dry.Do not apply a caustic grill/oven
cleaner to painted surfaces.
Plasticparts: washwithwarmsoapywaterand wipedry,
Do notusecitrisol,abrasivecleaners,degreasersora
concentratedgrillcleaneron plasticparts. Damagetoand
failure ofpartscanresult.
CAUTION

Cleanburners after the
beginningof grilling season or a periodof

build nests in burner tubes (especiallyduring colder
months).These nestscan causefires in burnertubes or
under grill.
Porcelain surfaces: because of glass-like composition,
mostresiduecanbewipedawaywithbakingsoda/water
solutionor speciallyformulated cleaner.Use nonabrasive
scouring powderfor stubborn stains.
Paintedsurfaces: Washwithmilddetergentornonabrasive
cleanerandwarmsoapywater,wipe drywitha soft
nonabrasivecloth.
Stainlesssteel surfaces: To maintainyour grill'shigh.
qualityappearance,washwithmilddetergentandwarm
soapy water,wipedrywitha softclothaftereachuse.Baked-
on greasedepositsmayrequiretheuseofan abrasiveplastic
cleaningpad.
Storing Your Grill
Clean cookinggrates
Store indr] location.
When LP tank is connectedto grill,store outdoors in well-
ventilatedspace and out of reach of children.
Covergrill if storedoutdoors.Choosefrom a varietyofgrill
coversoffered by Char-Broil.
Storegrill indoorsONLYif LPtank isturnedQffand
disconnected,removed from grill and stored outdoors.
When removinggrill from storage follow "Cleaningthe Burner
Assembly"instructionsbeforestartinggrill.
