IMPORTANT
CFC/HCFC Disposal
Your old appliance may have a cooling
system that used CFCs or HCFCs (chlo-
rofluorocarbons or hydrochlorofluoro-
carbons). CFCs and HCFCs are believed
to harm stratospheric ozone if released
to the atmosphere. Other refrigerants
may also cause harm to the environ-
ment if released to the atmosphere.
If you are throwing away your old
appliance, make sure the refrigerant
is removed for proper disposal by a
qualified technician. If you intentionally
release refrigerant, you may be subject
to fines and imprisonment under provi-
sions of environmental legislation.

Turning the appliance controls to o
will disable your appliance’s cooling
system, but does not disconnect the
power to the light bulb and other elec-
trical components. To turn o power
to your appliance you must unplug the

Electrical information
• Plug the appliance into its own ded-
icated 115 Volt, 60 Hz., 15 Amp, AC
only electrical outlet. The power cord
of the appliance is equipped with a
3-prong grounding plug for your pro-
tection against electrical shock haz-
ards. Plug it directly into a properly
grounded 3-prong receptacle. Install
the receptacle in accordance with
local codes and ordinances. Consult a
qualified electrician. Avoid connect-
ing the appliance to a Ground Fault
Interrupter (GFI) circuit. Do not use
an extension cord or adapter plug.
• If the power cord is damaged, an
authorized service technician should
replace it to prevent any risk.
• Never unplug the appliance by pull-
ing on the power cord. Always grip
the plug firmly, and pull straight out
from the receptacle to prevent dam-
aging the power cord.
• Unplug the appliance before clean-
ing and before replacing the AC LED
light bulb to avoid electrical shock.

Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning on the appliance. Rub
a small amount of liquid dish soap over the adhesive with your fingers. Rinse with
warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Moving your Appliance
Your appliance is heavy. When moving
the appliance for cleaning or service, raise
the anti-tip bracket (see Setting the an-
ti-tip bracket). Be sure to cover the floor
with cardboard or hardboard to avoid
floor damage. Always pull the appliance
straight out when moving it. Do not wig-
gle or “walk” the appliance when trying to
move it as floor damage could occur.

This Use & Care Manual provides general
operating instructions for your model. Use
the appliance only as instructed in this Use
& Care Manual. Before starting the appli-
ance, follow these important first steps.
Guidelines for final positioning of
your appliance:
• All 4 corners of the cabinet must rest
firmly on the floor.
• The cabinet should be level at the
front and rear.
• The door should be level.
WARNING
DO NOT install the appliance where
the temperature will drop below 0°F
(-18°C) or rise above 110°F (43°C). The
compressor will not be able to maintain
proper temperatures inside the unit.
Setting the anti-tip bracket:
Models are equipped with an anti-tip
bracket. The anti-tip brackets are located
on the lower front corners of the cabinet.
Lower the anti-tip on each side clockwise
until they contact the floor. Do not raise
the cabinet.

INSTALLATION

Do not block the lower front of your ap-
pliance. Sucient air circulation is essen-
tial to operate your appliance properly.

The direction in which your appliance doors open (door swing) can be reversed,
from left to right or right to left, by moving the door hinges from one side to the
other. A qualified person should reverse the door swing.

1. Unplug your freezer.
2. Remove the top hinge cover (see
Figure 1A).
3. Remove the 3 screws from the top
hinge using a Phillips™ screwdriver
or 5/16" wrench. Set the hinge and
screws aside (see Figure 1B).

NOTE
Place the door on a padded surface to
prevent damage.
4. Gently pry the hinge bearing out
from the top of the freezer door
with a flathead screwdriver (See
Figure 2A).
5. Install the hinge bearing on the op-
posite side of the door (see Figure
2B). Remove the door from the unit
by lifting the door up.
6. Flip the door over to access the bot-
tom. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver
remove the screws from the hinge
bearing and the door closer (see
Figure 3A).
7. Using a flat head screwdriver, gently
pry the closer/bearing assembly out
of the door (see Figure 3B).
8. Separate the door closer and hinge
bearing (see Figure 3C).
9. Flip the door closer over 180º and
reinstall the closer onto the hinge
bearing (see Figure 3D).
10. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver, attach
the door closer/bearing assembly to
the opposite side of the door (see
Figure 3E).
11. Remove the hinge cover by gently
bending the tabs of the cover out
while pulling the cover toward the
front of the unit (see Figure 4).

12. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver, re-
move the screw from the door stop
(see Figure 5A).
13. Using a flat head screwdriver, gently
pry the door stop o the bottom
hinge pin (see Figure 5B).
14. Using a ratchet with a 12 mm socket,
remove the bottom hinge pin (see
Figure 5C).
15. Reinstall the hinge pin into the outer
hole and tighten with a ratchet and a
12 mm socket (see Figure 6A).
16. Flip door stop over 180° (see Figure 6B)
and reinstall onto the opposite hinge
over the hinge pin (see Figure 6C).
17. Secure the door stop with a screw
(see Figure 6D).
18. Reinstall the hinge cover by gently
bending the cover tabs outward,
while sliding the cover over the
hinge until it clicks into place (see
Figure 7).

19. Slide the door onto the bottom hinge
pin at 90° to the freezer cabinet and
close the door (see Figure 8).
20. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver or a
5/16" wrench, secure the top hinge
using three 5/16" screws. Replace
the top hinge cover (see Figure 9).
21. Plug the freezer power cord back
into the electrical outlet, and turn
the freezer temperature control to
the Recommended setting.

1. Lay the unit down on its back.
2. Disconnect the small blue and white
connectors located in the channel in
the bottom of the door (see Figure
1A).
3. Remove the gray cable from
underneath the 2 harness retaining
clips (see Figure 1B).
4. Pull the gray cable and connectors
through the hinge hole located on
the bottom of the cabinet using a
flat-head screwdriver.
5. Route the gray cable and the con-
nectors out from under the wheel
axle and the wheel spacer (see
Figure 2).

IMPORTANT

6. Slide the gray cable and connectors
out of the plastic channel located on
the bottom right side of the cabinet
(see Figure 3).

7. Remove the bottom hinge using
5/16" (8mm) wrench (see Figure 4).
8. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver,
remove the screws from the hinge
bearing and the door closer (see
Figure 5A).
9. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently
pry the door closer/hinge bearing
assembly out of the door (see Fig-
ure 5B).
10. Separate the door closer and hinge
bearing (see Figure 5C).
11. Flip the door closer over 180° and
reinstall the door closer onto the
hinge bearing (see Figure 5D).
12. Using a Phillips™ screwdriver, attach
the door closer/hinge bearing as-
sembly to the opposite side of the
door (see Figure 5E).
13. Remove the screw from the door
stop located on the bottom hinge,
using a Phillips™ screwdriver (see
Figure 6A).
14. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently
pry the door stop o the bottom
hinge pin (see Figure 6B)
15. Using a ratchet with a 12 mm socket,
remove the bottom hinge pin and in-
stall into the left hole (see Figure 6C) .
16. Flip the door stop over 180° and
reinstall onto the bottom hinge pin.
Secure the door stop with the screw
(see Figure 6D).

17. Remove the left bottom hinge using
5/16" (8 mm) wrench and install on
the right side. Figure 7.
18. Reattach the bottom hinge (with
the door stop) to the left side of the
cabinet and add the wheel spacer
on the left side of the wheel axle.

20. Route the gray cable and connectors
under the left side wheel axle and
wheel spacer (see Figure 8B).
21. Route the connectors and gray ca-
ble through the left side hole in the

22. Insert the gray cable into the left
side door channel in the bottom of
the door (see Figure 8D).
23. Route the gray cable underneath the
2 harness retaining clips on the left
side of the door channel.
24. Reconnect the blue and
white connectors.
25. Remove the hinge cover (see Figure
9A) and use a 5/16" wrench to re-
move the top hinge (see Figure 9B).

26. Pry out the hinge bearing from
the top of the freezer door with a
flathead screwdriver (see Figure
10A). Install the hinge bearing on
the opposite side of the door (see
Figure 10B).

27. Reattach the top hinge (B) onto the
left side of the cabinet, using a 5/16"
wrench. Replace the top hinge cover
(A) (see Figure 11).

CAUTION
Raise the freezer to the upright position
and allow 1 hour before plugging the
unit back into electrical outlet.
28. Plug the freezer power cord back
into the electrical outlet.
16 DOOR HANDLE INSTALLATION (SOME MODELS)
IMPORTANT
To ensure proper installation of handle,
please review these instructions and il-
lustrations thoroughly prior to installing
the handle.
Additionally, before installing the door
handle, make sure the door swing is
correct. Your model will have either
a right-hand or left-hand door swing.
Follow DOOR REVERSAL instructions,
if necessary.
CAUTION
Wear gloves and use extreme CAUTION
when installing these handles. The round-
ed end of the handles may be sharp.
1. Remove handle from carton and any
other protective packaging.
2. Position freezer handle end caps over
upper and lower pre-installed shoul-
der bolts (A) that are fastened into
door, ensuring the holes for the set
screws are facing towards the hinge.
3. While holding handle firmly against
door, fasten upper and lower Allen set
screws (B) with supplied Allen wrench.

When first turning appliance on, adjust
control to Recommended. After 24
hours, adjust the controls as needed.
IMPORTANT
Adjusting the appliance temperature
control to OFF turns o the compressor
and prevents the appliance from cool-
ing, but does not disconnect the power
to the light bulb and other electrical
components. To turn o power to your
appliance, you must unplug the power
cord from the wall outlet.
Cool Down Period
To ensure safe food storage, allow the ap-
pliance to operate with the door closed for
at least 8 hours before loading it with food.
Appliance Control
Temperature Adjustment
Adjust temperature gradually: adjust the
knob in small increments, allowing the
temperature to stabilize.
• For colder temperatures, adjust the
knob towards Coldest.
• For warmer temperatures, adjust the
knob towards Cold.
Appliance Control
Alarms
High Temp Alert
If the temperature increases above
freezing your food, the LED light at the
bottom of the cabinet will flash and the
alarm will sound. The alarm can be reset
by opening and then closing the door.
The LED will continue to flash until the
cabinet temperature is below 23°F (-5°C).
If the internal temperature remains high
for 15 minute and there has not been a
power failure, call Frigidaire at 1-800-374-
4432 for assistance.
Door Ajar Alert
This alert will sound to alert you that
the door has been open for 5 minutes or
more. The audible alert will sound until
the door is closed.
Power On Light
The green LED Power On light indicates
that the appliance is properly connected
to electrical power. The light glows
even when the temperature control is
turned to OFF. If the light goes out,
refer to Appliance does not run in
TROUBLESHOOTING.

WITH TEMPERATURE CONTROL INSIDE)
Sabbath Mode
The Sabbath Mode is a feature that disables portions of the appliance and its controls
in accordance with observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within
the Orthodox Jewish community.
The Sabbath Mode disables the temperature control knob and mutes all sounds
(except the High Temp alert). The LED light at the botton of the cabinet will flash and
the High Temp alert will sound until you deactivate the Sabbath Mode.
To enter Sabbath Mode
Rotate the temperature control knob to OFF, and then between Recommended and
OFF 3 times within 10 seconds. A beep will sound indicating the unit is in Sabbath
Mode. Rotate the temperature control knob to the desired temperature setting. The
interior light will not illuminate while in Sabbath Mode when the door is open.
NOTE
The temperature setting is not aected by the Sabbath Mode. For food safety, the
High Temp alert will sound for 10 minutes if the internal temperature increases.
After 10 minutes, the alarm will stop, but the LED light at the bottom of the cabinet
will continue to flash until you deactivate the Sabbath Mode.
NOTE
While in the Sabbath Mode, the lights will not work until you deactivate
Sabbath Mode.
The appliance stays in Sabbath Mode after power failure recovery. You must deacti-
vate it with the temperature control knob.

To exit Sabbath Mode, repeat the steps above.

Freeze Boost
Prior to grocery shopping, activate Freeze Boost so upon
returning you can ensure your newly purchased frozen food
will be preserved.
Turning on Freeze Boost will cool the appliance down to a
target temperature and will remain active for up to 24 hours
before automatically deactivating or being manually exited.
To turn the function o, press Freeze Boost. When you turn
the function o, it will automatically reset the freezer back to
the previous temperature setting.
Alarms
High Temp Alert
If the temperature increases above freezing your food, the red
High Temp LED light will illuminate and the alarm will sound. Reset
the alarm by pressing and holding the Temp button for 3 seconds.
Power Failure
In the event of a power failure, where the temperature increases
above freezing your food, once you restore power, the red High
Temp LED light will illuminate, and the alarm will sound. Reset the
alarm by pressing and holding the Temp button for 3 seconds.
IMPORTANT
If the high temp condition has not im-
proved after a period of time, the alert will
be displayed again. In this event, repeat
steps for resetting the alert and call Frigid-
aire at 1-800-374-4432 for assistance
Door Ajar Alert
If the door has been open for 5 minutes or more, an alert will sound until you close
the door.
NOTE
If a power failure occurs, frozen foods
will stay frozen longer if the appliance is
kept closed. If the power failure contin-
ues, pack 7 or 8 pounds of dry ice into
the unit every 24 hours. Look in the Yel-
low Pages under “Dry Ice,” “Dairies,” or
“Ice Cream Manufacturers” for local dry
ice suppliers. Always wear gloves and
use caution when handling dry ice.

Sabbath Mode
The Sabbath Mode is a feature that disables portions of the appliance and its controls
in accordance with observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within
the Orthodox Jewish community.
All buttons are disabled, and all sounds (except the High Temp alert*) are muted. Only
the High Temp alert will illuminate until you deactivate the Sabbath Mode.
To exit Sabbath Mode, repeat the steps above.
NOTE
While in Sabbath Mode, neither the
lights nor the control panel will work
(except to exit Sabbath Mode) until Sab-
bath Mode is deactivated.
The appliance stays in Sabbath Mode
after power failure recovery. It must be
deactivated with the buttons on the
control panel.

NOTE
The temperature setting is not aected by the Sabbath Mode. For food safety, the
High Temp alert will sound for 10 minutes if the internal temperature increases. After
10 minutes, the alarm will stop, but the High Temp LED will remain lit until you deac-
tivate the Sabbath Mode.

Shelf Adjustment
Easily adjust appliance shelves to suit
individual needs. Before adjusting the
shelves, remove all food.
To adjust shelves, lift the front of the
shelf and pull forward.
To replace shelves, insert the rear of
the shelf into any pair of shelf rails and
carefully push the shelf back into posi-
tion, making sure the shelf clips go in the
notch in the liner.
Door Storage
Door bins and shelves conveniently store
jars, bottles, and cans. You can quickly
select frequently used items.
To remove the door bin:
1. Push in on each side of the door bin
to release it from the locking tabs.
2. Lift up on the bin and pull it
straight out.
Wire Shelf
Freezer Basket (some models)
The freezer basket is ideal for large items or
items that do not store well on the shelves.
To install the door bins:
1. Push the bin back and down into the
locking tabs.
2. The bin sides will lock into the tabs.

These shelves contain cooling coils to
freeze foods quickly and allow cold air
to constantly circulate throughout the
freezer. Do not use sharp metal objects
such as ice picks or scrapers to clean the
shelves. This could damage the shelves
and reduce their cooling ability.

These shelves are not adjustable.

Protecting your investment
Keeping your appliance clean maintains
appearance and prevents odor build-up.
Wipe up any spills immediately and clean
the appliance at least twice a year. When
cleaning, take the following precautions:
• Never use CHLORIDE or cleaners
with bleach to clean stainless steel.
• Do not wash any removable parts in
a dishwasher.
• Always unplug the electrical power cord
from the wall outlet before cleaning.
• Remove adhesive labels by hand. Do
not use razor blades or other sharp
instruments which can scratch the
appliance surface.
• Do not remove the serial plate.
CAUTION
• Pull the appliance straight out to move
it. Shifting it from side to side may
damage flooring.
• Damp objects stick to cold metal
surfaces. Do not touch refrigerated
surfaces with wet or damp hands.
NOTE
If you set your temperature controls
to turn o cooling, power to lights and
other electrical components will contin-
ue until you unplug the power cord from
the wall outlet.
Do not use abrasive cleaners such as win-
dow sprays, scouring cleansers, brushes,
flammable fluids, cleaning waxes, concen-
trated detergents, bleaches or cleansers
containing petroleum products on plastic
parts, interior doors, gaskets or cabinet
liners. Do not use paper towels, metallic
scouring pads, or other abrasive cleaning
materials or strong alkaline solutions.
CAUTION
Damp objects stick to cold metal
surfaces. Do not touch interior metal
surfaces with wet or damp hands.
Some upright freezers are frost-free and
defrost automatically, but should be
cleaned occasionally.
Between Defrosting
To avoid frequent defrosting, occasional-
ly use a plastic scraper to remove frost.
Scrape with a pulling motion. Never use a
metal instrument to remove frost.
CAUTION
Freezer must be unplugged (to avoid
electrical hazard) from power source
when defrosting unit.
Defrosting
It is important to defrost and clean freezer
when ¼" to ½" of frost has accumulated.
Frost may tend to accumulate faster on
upper part of the freezer due to warm,
moist air entering the freezer when the
door is opened. Remove food and leave
the door open when defrosting the freezer.
Before unplugging the unit for defrosting,
empty the lower basket of contents. The
basket comes with a garden hose attach-
ment feature hidden behind a cover (see
Figure 1).
Remove the cover by pulling the cover
straight back using fingers (see Figure 2).

Place a folded towel across the width of
the freezer bottom. Place the empty bas-
ket on top of the towel pushed complete-
ly to the rear. Also place a folded towel on
the floor near the front of the cabinet to
catch any residual moisture.
A ¾" garden hose adapter can be used to
drain the freezer directly into a floor drain
(see Figure 3).

The frost will loosen and fall with the ma-
jority of the frost entering the basket.
If the frost is glazed and hard, fill deep
pans with hot water and place them on
the freezer shelves. The frost should
soften in about 15 minutes. Repeat this
procedure if necessary.
Remove the garden hose and dump any
remaining water. Remove the towels. Dry the
side walls, shelves and freezer bottom with a
dry towel. Replace the Cover and place the
basket back into the freezer compartment.
If you choose to not use a garden hose,
a garden hose cap can be purchased at
most hardware stores. This cap can be
installed and the defrost water collected
can simply be dumped into a drain.
Please note that the cover that comes
with the basket may not be water tight.
Defrosting without using a garden hose
or a cap may lead to water leaking onto
the floor surface.
Cleaning the Inside
After defrosting, wash inside surfaces of
the unit with a solution of 2 tbsp. (25 g) of
baking soda in 1 qt. (1 l) warm water. Rinse
and dry. Wring excess water out of the
sponge or cloth when cleaning in the area
of the controls, or any electrical parts. DO
NOT REMOVE THE SERIAL PLATE.
Wash the removable parts with the
baking soda solution mentioned above,
or mild detergent and warm water. Rinse
and dry. Never use metallic scouring
pads, brushes, abrasive cleaners, or alka-
line solutions on any surface. Do not wash
removable parts in a dishwasher.
Cleaning the Outside
Wash the cabinet with warm water and
mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe
dry with a clean soft cloth.
Do not use razor blades or other sharp
instruments, which can scratch the freezer
surface when removing adhesive labels.
Any glue left from the tape can be removed
with a mixture of warm water and mild de-
tergent, or touch the residue with the sticky
side of the tape already removed.

Common Occurrences
Before calling for service, review this list. It may save
you time and expense. This list includes common
occurrences that are not the result of defective
workmanship or materials in this appliance.
Appliance does not run. • Ensure plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet.
• Check/replace fuse with a 15-amp time-delay fuse.
Reset circuit breaker.
• The appliance control is turned to OFF.
• Appliance may be in defrost cycle. Wait 20 minutes
and check again.
Appliance temperature
is unsatisfactory.
• Check freezer temperatures and adjust the
temperature control as needed.
Appliance temperature is
warmer than preferred.
• Set control to a colder setting until appliance
temperature is satisfactory. Allow 24 hours for the
temperature to stabilize.
Appliance is noisy or vibrates. • The cabinet is not level.
• Adjust the anti-tip bracket. See Setting the anti-tip
bracket in the INSTALLATION section.
• Floor is weak.
Appliance seems to
run continuosly.
• The appliance is equipped with an energy-ecient
variable speed compressor. It actually saves energy
running more frequently.
Odors in appliance. • Interior needs to be cleaned.
• Foods that produce odors should be covered
or wrapped.
Cabinet light not working. • Replace AC LED light bulb. Caution: Use only a
5-Watt AC LED light bulb.
• Ensure plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet.
Green LED power light is

• LED may be burned out.
• NO electric current is reaching the appliance. See
“Appliance does not run” above.
• LED may be burned out. Contact Frigidaire for
assistance finding a qualified service dealer.

Your appliance is covered by a one year limited warranty. For one year from your original
date of purchase, Electrolux will pay all costs for repairing or replacing any parts of this
appliance that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship when such appliance is
installed, used and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.
Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:
1. Products with original serial numbers that have been removed, altered or cannot be
readily determined.
