5. Once appliance has preheated, Green light has turned on, raise the lid using an oven mitt
to prevent any burns. Roll dough into portions and place one (1) in each non-stick cavity.
CAUTION: Do not overfill the product or operate it when empty.
6. Close the lid using the oven mitt and secure lock clasp in position.
NOTE: Steam may be released from the appliance during cooking. Only handle the
appliance using kitchen gloves to avoid burns.
7. Cooking time generally ranges from 6-9 minutes.
8. Once they have finished cooking raise the lid and remove the arepas using a plastic or
wooden spoon, do not use metal utensils as they may scratch and damage the surface.
9. If you are cooking more than one batch of arepas, after the first batch lower the lid to
maintain the heat level until its ready to cook the next batch.
10. As soon as you are finished cooking unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.
Cleaning Your Arepa Maker:
WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing it.
NOTICE: Never immerse the Arepa Maker, plug or cord in water or any other liquid.
Disconnect the Arepa Maker from the electrical outlet. Make sure the appliance is
completely cooled before handling.
Clean the upper and lower non-stick plates using a damp nonabrasive cloth.
Exterior of Arepa Maker can be cleaned with a damp cloth as well. Dry all parts thoroughly
before storing or using again.
Wrap the cord in the cord storage below the appliance. Store in a cool, dry place. Away
from reach of children.
Recipe:
1 tsp. Salt
12 oz. (1 ½ cups) Corn Meal Flour
Pour water in a bowl and add a dash of salt. Slowly add flour to the water and knead
until dough is formed. Use the palms of your hands to form round and flat pieces of
dough a bit smaller than the circle arepa molds of the arepa maker. Roughly 1 inch
thick by 3 inches across. Lightly oil the plates prior to placing dough. Adjust the
temperature from low to high for soft to crispy arepas. For even toastier arepas keep
them in the machine and monitor.
