Multi-Monitor Requirements
When connecting to a USB-C source that does not support
DisplayPort MST, such as a MacBook, SST (Single-Stream
Transport) mode is used instead. Only the EDID of the first
connected monitor is read by the source, forcing both monitors to
display in mirror mode. The default resolution of the first monitor
will be sent to the second monitor, which will display the same
resolution. If the second monitor is incapable of supporting the
same resolution as the first, no video will display on it. Before
connecting the second monitor, the first monitor’s resolution must
be changed to the second monitor’s resolution in order for video to
display on both.
Note: The following table depicts the maximum resolution achieved on
each video port, based on the connected monitors. Mac does not support
DisplayPort MST; therefore, multiple monitor setups are not guaranteed.
