WARNING
Skin irritation. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with
used motor oil. Used motor oil has been shown to cause
skin cancer in laboratory animals. Thoroughly wash
exposed areas with soap and water.
NOTE: Drain oil when engine is warm. Warm oil drains
more completely.
NOTE: This unit do no
t require a regular oil change.
Check the engine oil before each use and add oil as
needed. Refer to the Engine Manufacturers Manual for
more detailed engine information.
NOTE: Drain
the oil when the engine is warm. Warm oil
drains quickly and completely.
1. See Figure 4-6. For convenience, place the
m
achine up on a wooden pallet or workbench.
2. Rem

able oil receptacle (B) beside the oil
fill tube.

Adjusting Trimmer Head Belt Tension
See Figure 4-7. The in-line adjuster located on left han-
dlebar (B) adjust trimmer head belt tension. To adjust the
tensio
n, hold hex flat section (C) and rotate the in-line
adjuster (A).
Increase cable tension by rotating the in-line
adjuster clockwise when viewed from above.
Reduce cable tension by rotating the in-line
adjuster counter clockwise.
The belt will stretch overtime and require adjust-
ment. If the trimmer head does not spin when the
trimm
er head engage bar is engaged, rotate the in-
line adjuster clockwise.
If the in-line adjuster is adjusted fully out and more
adjustment is required, the belt needs to be
replaced.

Servicing Spark Plug
To ensure the engine runs efficiently, the gap of the spark
plug must be correct. To service the spark plug:
1. Clea
n area around spark plug.
2. R
emove spark plug.
3. clea
n the electrodes with a metal brush and
remove any build up.
4. See Figure 4-8. Measure spark plug clearance
with
a fueler gauge. The clearance should be .019-
.027 in (0.5-0.7 mm). If adjustment is necessary,
bend the side electrode carefully.
