16. Installing the Blade
WARNING
• Always remove the battery pack when servicing
or transporting the mower.
• Always protect your hands by wearing heavy
gloves or wrapping the cutting edges with
rags or other materials when performing any
maintenance on the mower blade.
NOTICE: To re-install or replace the blade, be sure
to replace the parts in the exact order in which
they were removed.
a. Mount the fan onto the motor shaft with the fan
blades towards the deck.
b. While wearing protective gloves, position the
blade on the inner ange with the surface
stating “THIS SIDE FACING GRASS” facing
toward the outside.
c. Align the outer ange with the shaft and
assemble it in place.
d. Mount the bolt into the shaft and turn it
clockwise by hand to re-tighten it.
e. While still wearing protective gloves, hold the
blade with one hand and turn the fan with the
other hand to align the holes in the blade with
the through holes in the inner ange (Fig.16a).
f. Place a metal rod (e.g., a 3.5"-long
screwdriver) with diameter a little under 1/4
inch (6.35mm) into the aligned holes to act as
a stabilizer 1. Place another metal rod (e.g., a 3.5"-long screwdriver) with diameter a little
under 5/16" (8mm) into the xing hole to act as another stabilizer 2 (Fig. 16b).
g. Use a 9/16-inch (14mm) torque wrench (not included) to tighten the bolt clockwise. The
recommended torque for the blade bolt is 36-43 ft-lb (49-59Nm).
