Descaling your Steamer
Overtime, natural mineral deposits in your tap water can accumulate in the steamer boiler,
pumps, and waterlines. To ensure optimal performance and to avoid causing damage to the machine,
descaling the steamer every 4-6 months is required.
Soniclean Varro uses a special descaling powder that can be purchased through www.sonicleanusa.com
To descale your steamer:
Unplug the machine from the power source.
Wait until the appliance cools down completely (may take up to 12-24 hours).
Unscrew boiler cap (1) by using the boiler key, empty the boiler and screw the cap back on
(DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOILER CAP).
Remove the refill tank cap and empty the refill tank by carefully inverting the machine over a
sink or bucket.
Mix one packet of descaling powder with 35 fl oz. of cold water. Once the powder is
completely dissolved, add the mixed descaling solution to the refill tank and replace the
refill tank cap.
Turn the steamer ON and wait until the appliance reaches operating temperature.
Once the steamer reaches operating temperature, turn the machine OFF and unplug the
power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the appliance completely cool down.
Once the steamer cools down, repeat step 3. (Don't forget to screw the boiler cap back on.)
Once the boiler has been drained, you are now ready to refill your steamer with tap water
and resume cleaning.

IMPORTANT: Using a descaling solution that is not approved for use in the Soniclean Varro VSS-1000 steamer
may cause irreparable damage to the machine and will void your machine’s warranty.
