CLEANING THE BURNERS
1. EnsuretheLPgasisturnedoff attheLPcylinder.
2. Removethecookinggrates,heatdiffusers,andgreasetray.
3. RemovethePhillipsHeadscrewslocatedatthebackendof eachburner.Removethenutandbolt
whichsecurestheburnertotheelectronicigniter.
4. Lift eachburnerupandout.
5. Cleantheinsideoftheburnerusingastiffwire. A straightenedcoathangerisonesuggestedtool. An
alternativewaytocleantheinsideoftheburnerisusingcompressedair. Alwaysweareyeprotectionif
usingthismethod.Neverenlargetheburner portsduring cleaning.
6. Brushtheoutersurfaceof theburner.
7. Ensureallports(holes)arefreeof all debris
8. Inspecttheburner.Replaceif anycracksorenlargedholes.
9. Reinstalltheburnersmakingsuretheburnersseatoverthe
valvesasshowninthefiguretotheright.
10.Securethebackof theburnerstothefireboxwith thePhillips
Headscrewsandreattachtotheelectronicigniters.
11.Replacethegreasetray,heatdiffusers,andcookinggrates.
12.PerformaLeakTestdescribedearlierinthisguide.
BURNERFLAMES
Alwaysinspecttheburnerflameafterlighting. A goodflame
shouldbeprimarilybluewith ayellowtip andhaveaminimal
amountofnoise.SomeyellowtipsareOKif underoneinch.
Newburnerssometimeshaveoil residue,whichwill cause
yellowflamewhenburningoff: Variationsin gassupply,
altitude,weather,andotherfactorscanallimpactburner
performance.Oldergrillscanalsoshowmoreyellow flameas
fooddeposits,oils,andfatscanbuildup
BURNERADJUSTMENTS
Eachburnerisadjustedandtestedatthefactorybeforepackaging.
However,variationsin gassupply,altitude,andotherfhctorscan
impactburnerperfommnce,therebymakingburneradjustments
sometimesnecessary.Burnerflamesshouldbemainlybluewith
little noise.Toomuchyellowindicatestoolittle air. Youcantry
movingthegrill toanareawith moreaircirculationoropeningthe
shutterontheburner.Toomuchnoiseindicatestoomuchair. Move
thegrill to anareaof decreasedaircirculation,orclosingtheshutter
ontheburnertogettoyourdesiredresult.
ELECTRONIC IGNITION MAINTENANCE
Yourgrill isequippedwith electronicignition. It's poweredbyone"AA" sizebattery.Replacethebattery
whennecessary.Unscrewtheignitertop. Placethenewbatteryintotheigniterwith thepositive(+)endofthe
batteryfacingup. Screwtheignitertopbackintoplace.
