When drillinghardsmoothsurfacesuse a center punch to
markdesired holelocation.Thiswillpreventthe drill bit
from slippingoffcenter as the holeis started.However,
the low speedfeature allowsstarting holes withoutcenter
punchingff desired.To accomplishthis,simplyoperate
yourdrillat a lowspeed untilthe holeIs started.
The materialto bedrilledshouldbe secured in avlse or
with clampsto keep it fromturningas the drillbit rotates.
Hold tool firmlyand placethe bitat the pointto be drilled.
Depressthe switchtriggerto start tool.
Move thedrill bitinto the workplece applying only enough
pressure to keep the bitcutting,Do not force or apply side
pressure to elongatea hole.
A WARNING: Be prepared for binding or bit
breakthrough. When these situations occur, drill has
a tendency to grab and kick opposite to the direction
of rotation and could cause loss of control when
breaking through matedaL If not prepared, this loss
of control can result in possible serious injury,
When drillingmetals,usea light ollon the drillbitto keep
it from overheating.The ollwill prolongthe life ofthe bit
and increase the drillingaction.
If the bit JamsInworkpleceor Ifthe drillstalls, release
switchtrigger Immediately.Removethe bitfrom the
workplece and determinethe reasonfor jamming.
