WARNING

Preparing Engine

NOTE:Itisimportantto preventgumdepositsfrom
forminginessentialfuelsystempartsoftheenginesuch
asthecarburetor,fuelfilter,fuelhoseor tankduring
storage.
CAUTION:Alcohol blended fuels(calledgasohol
or using ethanol or methanol) canattract moisture
which leads toseparation and formation ofacids
during storage.Acidic gas candamagethe fuel
system of an engine while in storage.
Toavoidengineproblems,thefuelsystemshouldbe
emptiedbeforestoragefor30daysor longer.Follow
theseinstructionstoprepareyoursnowthrowerfor
storage:

1. Removeallgasolinefromthecarburetorandthefuel
tanktopreventgumdepositsfromformingon these
partsandharmingtheengine.
2. Runtheengineuntilthefueltankisemptyandit
stopsduetolackoffuel.
3. Draincarburetorbypressingupwardon bowldrain,
locatedbelowthecarburetorcover. Thetheengine
owner'smanualforcompleteinstructions.

4. Removethesparkplugandpourone(1)ounce
ofengineoil throughthesparkplugholeintothe
cylinder.Coversparkplugholewitha ragandcrank
theengineseveraltimestodistributetheoil. Replace
sparkplug.
NOTE:Refertotheenginemanualformoreinformation
onpreparingthe snowthrowerengineforstorage.
Preparing Snow Thrower
1. Whenstoringthesnowthrowerinan unventilatedor
metalstorageshed,careshouldbetakento rustproof
theequipment.Usinga lightoilor silicone,coatthe
equipment,especiallyanychains,springs,bearings
andcables.
2. Removealldirtfromexteriorofengineandequipment.
3. Followlubricationrecommendationson page11.
4. Storeequipmentina clean,dryarea.
NOTE:Fuelstabilizer(suchas STA-BIL)isanaccept-
ablealternativeinminimizingtheformationoffuelgum
depositsduringstorage.Addstabilizertogasoline
infueltankor storagecontainer.Alwaysfollowmix
ratiofoundon stabilizercontainer.Runengineatleast
10minutesafteraddingstabilizertoallowitto reach
thecarburetor.Donotdraincarburetorifusingfuel
stabilizer.
