INSTALLING BATTERY PACK

NOTE: Battery pack is shipped in a (ow charge condition.
Therefore, it must be charged prior to use. Refer to
page 13, "CHARG)NG BATTERY PACK" for charging
instruct(ons.
[] P(ace battery pack in your saw. Align raised rib on
battery pack with groove inside saw, then slide battery
pack in saw as shown in figure 5.
[] Make sure the (atches on each side of your battery
pack snap into place and battery pack is secured in
saw before beginning operation.
,_ CAUT(ON: When placing battery pack (n your saw,
be sure raised rib on battery pack a(igns with groove
inside saw and (atches snap into p(ace properly.
(mproper assembly can cause damage to saw and
battery pack.

ATTACHING BLADE
See Figure 4.
WARNING: A 5-1/2 in. (140 mm) Made is the max-
imum blade capacity of your saw. Never use a blade
that is too thick to allow outer blade washer to en-
gage with the fiats on the spindle. Larger blades will
come in contact with the Made guard, while thicker
blades wi(! prevent blade screw from securing blade
on sp(ndie. Either of these s(tuations cou(d resu(t in a
serious accident.
[] Remove battery pack from saw.
[] Locate (atches on side of battery pack and depress to
re(ease battery pack from your saw.
[] Remove b(ade wrench (5 mm hex key) from storage
area.
[] Depress spindle lock button and remove blade screw
and outer Made washer.
NOTE: Turn blade screw c(ockwise to remove.
[] Wipe a drop of oil onto inner Made washer and outer
blade washer where they contact b(ade.
_(_ WARNING: (f inner blade washer has been re-
moved, replace (t before p(acing blade on spindle.
Failure to do so cou(d cause an accident since Made
wH( not tighten proper(y.
[] Fit saw blade inside (ower Made guard and onto
spindle.
NOTE: The saw teeth po(nt upward at the front of saw
as shown in figure 3.
[] Rep(ace outer blade washer.
[] Depress spindle (ock button, then replace blade screw.
Tighten Made screw securely.
NOTE: Turn Made screw counterc(ockwise to tighten.
[] Return Made wrench to storage area.
NOTE: Never use a blade that is too thick to allow the
outer blade washer to engage with the flats on the
sp(nd)e.
