BLADE MAINTENANCE
WARNING:The bladewillcontinueto
spinaftertheenginestopsorafterthe
throttletriggerhas beenreleased.Make
suretheblade hasstoppedcoasting
anddisconnectthesparkplugbefore
performingworkontheblade.
Alwaysreplacea bladethat isbent,
warped,cracked,broken,ordamagedin
anyotherway.Neverattemptto
straightenandrousea damagedblade.
Useonlyspecifiedreplacementblade.
Wearprotectivegloveswhenhandling
orperformingmaintenanceon the
bladeto helpavoid injury.

• The Blade is reversible. When the
cutting edge on one side becomes
worn, turn the blade over.
• Check blade for flatness periodically.
Lay the blade on a fiat surface to in-
spect for flatness. Throw away a
bladethatis not fiat.
BLADE REPLACEMENT
CAUTION: Wear protective gloves
whenhandlingor performingmainte-
nanceonthebtadetoavoidinjury.
• Toremovetheblade,inserta screw-
driver intothe holeinthe gearbox;
then,removethenut,washer,and
blade from theblade shaft.

• Align the fiatarea ofthe bladeopen-
ing with theflat side ofthe shaft.
Place the newblade on the shaft.
• Instal] washer,making sure to install
cupped (concave)side facing blade.
• Install nutcounterclockwiseon the
blade shaft.
• Bind the btadeby inserting a screw-
driver intothe hole in the gearbox;
then, tightenthe nutwith a wrench
until the washer is flattenedfirmly
against the blade.

REPLACE SPARKPLUG
The sparkplug shouldbe repiaced
eachyear toensuretheenginestarts
easier and runsbetter.Set sparkplug
gap at .025in.
• TwistthenpulIoffthesparkplugboot.
• Removeand discardthespark plug.
• Replace withChampion RCJ*8Y
spark plugand tightenwithwrench.
