1.0 INTRODUCTION

• THIS APPLIANCE IS HOT WHEN OPERATED AND CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS IF

CONTACTED.

• Do not operate appliance before reading and understanding operating instructions. Failure to operate

appliance according to operating instructions could cause ﬁ re or injury.

• Risk of burns. Power to the appliance should be turned off and the appliance allowed to cool before

servicing. To disconnect power to the appliance, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.

• Do not install damaged, incomplete or substitute components.

• Do not burn wood or other materials in this appliance.

• Young children should be carefully supervised when they are in the same room as the appliance.

Toddlers, young children and others may be susceptible to accidental contact burns. A physical barrier

is recommended if there are at risk individuals in the house. To restrict access to an appliance or stove,

install an adjustable safety gate to keep toddlers, young children and other at risk individuals out of the

room and away from hot surfaces.

• Clothing or other ﬂ ammable material should not be placed on or near the appliance.

• Due to high temperatures, the appliance should be located out of trafﬁ c and away from furniture and

draperies.

• Ensure you have incorporated adequate safety measure to protect infants/toddlers from touching hot

surfaces.

• Even after the appliance is out, the glass and/or screen will remain hot for an extended period of time.

• Check with your local hearth specialty dealer for safety screens and hearth guards to protect children

from hot surfaces. These screens and guards must be fastened to the ﬂ oor.

• Any safety screen or guard removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operating the appliance.

• It is imperative that the control compartments, circulating blower and its passageway in the appliance

and are kept clean. The appliance should be inspected before use and at least annually by a qualiﬁ ed

service person. More frequent cleaning may be required due to excessive lint from carpeting, bedding

material, etc. The appliance area must be kept clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and

other ﬂ ammable vapors and liquids.

• Under no circumstances should this appliance be modiﬁ ed.

• Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualiﬁ ed service technician

to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the control system which has been under water.

• Do not operate the appliance with the glass door removed, cracked or broken. Replacement of the

glass should be done by a licensed or qualiﬁ ed service person.

• Do not strike or slam shut the appliance glass door.

• Keep the packaging material out of reach of children and dispose of the material in a safe manner. As

with all plastic bags, these are not toys and should be kept away from children and infants.

• Servicing should be done only while the appliance is disconnected from the power supply circuit.

• Always unplug appliance when not in use.

• Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug after the appliance malfunctions, has been

dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to authorized service facility for examination,

electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.

• Do not use outdoors.

• Never locate appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

• Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or the like. Arrange cord

away from trafﬁ c area and where it will not be tripped over.

• Connect to properly grounded outlets only.

• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an

electric shock or ﬁ re, or damage the appliance.

• To prevent a possible ﬁ re, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft

surfaces, like a carpet, where openings may become blocked.

• Always plug appliances directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use an extension cord or

relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

• Ensure clearances to combustibles are maintained when building a mantel or shelves above the

appliance. Elevated temperatures on the wall or in the air above the appliance can cause melting,

discolouration or damage to decorations, a T.V. or other electronic components.

between 5°C (41°F) and 35° C (95°F). During the colder winter months, allow the ﬁ replace to reach room

2.0 LOCATING APPLIANCE

2.1 UNPACKING AND TESTING APPLIANCE

Carefully remove the appliance from the box and remove the support brackets. Prior to installing the

appliance, remove all packaging material and test to make sure the appliance operates properly by plugging

the power supply cord into a conveniently located 120V,15 Amp minimum grounded outlet.

2.2 GROUNDING APPLIANCE

DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, THIS ELECTRIC APPLIANCE SHOULD BE LOCATED OUT OF

TRAFFIC. KEEP COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS SUCH AS FURNITURE, PILLOWS, BEDDING, PAPERS,

CLOTHES AND CURTAINS AT LEAST 36" FROM THE FRONT OF THE APPLIANCE.

NEVER LOCATE THIS ELECTRIC APPLIANCE WHERE IT MAY FALL INTO A BATHTUB OR OTHER

WATER CONTAINER.

WEAR SAFETY GLOVES AND SAFETY GLASSES FOR PROTECTION DURING INSTALLATION AND

A. Once the rough opening has been

prepared, and the power has been

routed to the right side of the recess,

the appliance may be installed.

B. The electrical connection must be

made prior to placing the appliance

into position. (See "HARD WIRING

INSTALLATION" section).

Prepare rough in framing following the recommended dimensions in Figure 1. For the corner rough in framing,

follow the recommended dimension in Figure 2.

Select a location that is not prone to moisture and is located at least 36" (914mm) away from combustible

materials such as curtain drapes, furniture, bedding, paper etc.

HARD WIRING CONNECTION

If it is necessary to hard wire this appliance, a qualiﬁ ed electrician must remove the cord connection, and

wire the appliance directly to the household wiring. The wire and power supply breaker must rated for 120V

minimum 15 Amps.

This appliance must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with local codes, if hard wired. In

the absence of local codes, use the current CSA C22.1 CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE in Canada or the

current ANSI/NFPA 70 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE in the United States.

TURN OFF THE APPLIANCE COMPLETELY AND LET COOL BEFORE SERVICING. ONLY A QUALIFIED SERVICE

PERSON SHOULD SERVICE AND REPAIR THIS ELECTRIC APPLIANCE.

(ground) that connect to 120V power supply (breaker panel), see below.

3.3.1 HARD WIRING INSTALLATION

NOTE: Leave enough wire so that the appliance can be removed from the enclosure without

disconnecting the power supply.

A. Remove the securing screw from the electrical cover plate, located on the right hand side of the

ﬁ replace.

B. Add an electrical box connector and feed the supply wires through the 7/8" (22mm) hole.

C. Separate the black, white and green wires that have the wire nuts on them.

D. Remove the wire nuts and secure the black wire (power L1) to the black (power L1) lead of the

power supply. Connect the white wire from the unit to the white (neutral) wire from the power

supply. Connect the green wire to the ground wire.

E. Resecure the cover plate.

3.3.2 APPLIANCE INSTALLATION

A. With two people, lift the appliance up and insert into the opening, keeping a 3/8" (9.5mm) space

between the appliance and ﬂ oor base in order to not scratch the ﬂ oor surface. Do not push or slide the

bottom of the appliance on the ﬂ oor base, see Figure 1.

B. Set the appliance down and into place, see Figure 2.

C. If the appliance does not sit ﬂ at on the ﬂ oor or mantel base, apply a shim (not supplied) under the

nylon pads and adjust until level.

4.0 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Once the appliance has been plugged into a grounded electrical outlet or hard wired to a dedicated 120V

power supply, it is ready to operate.

ATTENTION: Ensure the house circuit breakers for the power supply are turned on. When initially

connecting the appliance into a power source the unit will perform an LED check. The unit will ﬂ ash on

and off for 5 seconds.

The Control Panel is located on the top front of the appliance.

A. The power button can be used to turn the appliance on/off. Pressing

this button activates the power to the appliance. Pressing the

power button again will turn off the appliance. The ember and log will

fade after 4 seconds after turning off the appliance.

B. To adjust the ﬂ ame brightness and ember log light, press the ﬂ ame

button . There is one ember log light and three ﬂ ame brightness

levels to cycle through and then an off setting ( LL, F1, F2, F3 and

then F0).F3 is the brightest ﬂ ame level, LL is the ember log light only.

C. To control the thermostat function press the thermostat button .

There are 7 temperature settings (61°F, 64°F, 70°F, 75°F, 81°F

85°F and off). The default setting will display Fahrenheit. Press the

thermostat button to cycle through the settings. Once you have

selected the desired temperature the heater will automatically

operate until that temperature is reached. When the room

temperature is 2 degrees lower than the temperature setting, the

heater will turn on.

D. To activate the heater and blower, press the heater button , the

blower will turn on. Press the heater button again to set desired low

or high heat temperature; press the heater button again to turn off

the heater.

E. The timer controls all operating modes of the appliance. To activate

the timer, press the timer button , the icon will illuminate and the

time will appear on the LED display. To choose the desired time,

continue to press the timer button, there are 8 settings (30mins,1h,

2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h and off). The ﬁ replace will turn off at the setting

time.

F. To activate the decoration light, press the light button .There are three settings to cycle through and

then an off setting (d1, d2, d3 and then d0). d1 white colour, d2 colour cycles from White / Orange /

Blue / Orange-Blue / White-Orange / White-Blue. It will take 8.5 seconds to switch from one colour to

the next when in d2 setting, d3 will lock to a desired colour (Only NEFB27H and NEFB29H models

have the decoration light feature).

G. To turn off the appliance, press the power button once on the remote, or press the power button once

on the control panel on the unit.

NOTE: This hand held remote control must remain within 6 meters or 19 feet of the appliance to be

effective.

NOTE: When operating the remote control, it must be directed towards the front center of the appliance.

5.1 GLASS DOOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

A. Remove the 4 screws off the appliance, as shown.

B. Remove the glass front and place on a soft non-abrasive

surface.

C. Reverse these steps to reinstall the glass front.

3.3.1 BRANCHEMENT PAR CABLE

AVERTISSEMENT

COUPEZ L’ALIMENTATION ÉLECTRIQUE À L’APPAREIL ET LAISSEZ-LE REFROIDIR AVANT D’EFFECTUER UN

ENTRETIEN. SEUL UN TECHNICIEN DE SERVICE QUALIFIÉ PEUT EFFECTUER L’ENTRETIEN OU LA RÉPARATION

DE CET APPAREIL ÉLECTRIQUE.

Si c'est nécessaire de faire un branchement par câble, un électricien qualiﬁ é peut retirer le cordon

d’alimentation de l'appareil et brancher ce dernier directement au câblage de la maison. L' alimentation de

disjoncteurs et ﬁ ls doit être classé pour 120V min. 15 amps.

Si vous effectuez un branchement par câble, cet appareil doit être raccordé électriquement et mis à la terre

conformément aux codes locaux. En l’absence de tels codes, utilisez la version courante du Code canadien de

l'électricité CSA C22.1 au Canada ou du National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70 aux États-Unis.

REMARQUE Laissez une longueur de ﬁ ls sufﬁ sante pour que l’appareil puisse être retiré de

l’enceinte sans le débrancher du circuit d’alimentation.

A. Retirez la vis de ﬁ xation de la plaque de recouvrement, située sur le côté droit du foyer.

B. Faites passer les ﬁ ls d’alimentation à travers le trou perforé de 22 mm (7/8 ").

C. Séparez l’un de l’autre les ﬁ ls noir, blanc et vert munis de capuchons de connexion.

D. Retirez les capuchons de connexion et raccordez le ﬁ l noir (alimentation L1) au ﬁ l noir

(alimentation L1) du circuit d’alimentation. Raccordez le ﬁ l blanc de l’appareil au ﬁ l blanc (neutre)

du circuit d’alimentation. Raccordez le ﬁ l vert au ﬁ l de mise à la terre.

E. Replacez la plaque de recouvrement et ﬁ xez-la.

3.3.2 INSTALLATION DE L'APPAREIL

Ont à deux personnes de soulever l’appareil et insérez dans l’ouverture, en laissant un espace de 3/8"

(9.5mm) entre l’appareil et la base du plancher. Ne faites pas glissez l’appareil, plancher ou d’autres

surfaces peintes peuvent rayer, voir Figure 1.

B. Placez l’appareil vers le bas sur la plancher en place., voir Figure 2.

C. Si l'appareil ne siègent pas à plat sur le sol ou tablette, appliquer une cale (non fourni) sous les patins

en nylon et ajuster jusqu'à ce niveau.

4.0 INSTRUCTIONS DE FONCTIONNEMENT

L'appareil est prêt à fonctionner dès qu'il est correctement branché dans une prise de courant mise à la terre (120V).

ATTENTION: Assurez-vous que les disjoncteurs de la maison pour ce circuit soient allumés. Lorsque vous

branchez d’abord l’appareil à une source d’ alimentation de l’unité effectuera une DEL vériﬁ er. L'appareil se

met à clignoter sur et en dehors pendant 5 secondes.

Le panneau de côntrolé est situé dans la partie supérieure avant de l'appareil, comme illustrée.

4.1 INTERRUPTEUR ET PANNEAU DE COMMANDE

5 Réglages: Flamme et lit de braises arrêt (FO), lit de braises marche

/ flamme arrêt (LL), flamme et lit de braises petite (F1), flamme et lit

de braises moyen (F2), brillants flamme et lit de braises (F3).

Tournez la chaufferette et soufflerie MARCHE / ARRÊT.

4 Réglages: Arrêt chaufferette et soufflerie (HO), Marche

soufflerie (BL), à feu doux (H1), forte chaleur (H2).

Contrôle la lumières décoratives.

4 Réglages: Arrêt lumières décoratives (do), Blanc (D1),

Séquence automatique avec Blanc / Orange / Bleu / Orange-Bleu /

Blanc-Orange / Blanc-Bleu (d2), pour verrouiller la couleur désirée(d3).

Il faudra 8,5 secondes pour passer d’une couleur à l’autre

(le réglage du d2).

La minuterie peut être programmée pour contrôler l'appareil pour

une durée spécifique (30mins. minimum à 6 h maximum).

Appuyez et maintenez le bouton de la minuterie. Cette

va changer le bouton pour contrôle de la température, ou vice

versa. Il y a 7 réglages (61°F, 64°F, 70°F, 75°F, 81°F, 85°F et arrêt).

4.2 UTILISATION DE LA TÉLÉCOMMANDE

AFIN D’ÉVITER LES RISQUES DE SUFFOCATION, GARDEZ LE SAC D’EMBALLAGE LOIN DES BÉBÉS

ET DES JEUNES ENFANTS. NE LE LAISSEZ PAS TRAÎNER DANS LES BERCEAUX, LES LITS, LES

POUSSETTES

A. Le bouton d’alimentation peut servir à allumer ou éteindre l’appareil.

Le fait d’appuyer sur ce bouton met l’appareil sous tension. Le fait

d’appuyer sur ce bouton encore, s'éteint le l'appareil. La braise et le

bûches va s'estomper au bout de 4 secondes.

B. Pour régler la hauteur de ﬂ amme la luminosité et lit de braises, appuyez

sur le bouton de ﬂ ammes . Il ya un lit de braise et de la lumière trois

niveaux de luminosité sont offerts ainsi qu’un réglage d’arrêt (LL, F1, F2,

F3 et F0). F3 est à l’intensité la plus élevée et LL est à seulement lit de

braises.

C. Pour utiliser la fonction thermostat, appuyez sur le bouton de

thermostat, Il y a 7 réglages (61°F, 64°F, 70°F, 75°F, 81°F, 85°F

et off). Par défaut, la température s’afﬁ che en Fahrenheit. Enfoncez

la fonction thermostat pour faire déﬁ ler les différents réglages. Pour

accéder au format de température désiré, maintenez enfoncé le bouton

de thermostat. L’afﬁ chage basculera de Celsius à Fahrenheit, ou

inversement. Lorsque la température ambiante est deux degré inférieur à

la température réglée, la chaufferette se met en marche.

D. Pour actionner la chaufferette et soufﬂ erie, appuyez sur le bouton

chaufferette Enfoncez le bouton chaufferette encore pour pour régler

la température de la chaleur basse ou haute souhaitée; enfoncez le

bouton chaufferette encore pour éteindre la chaufferette.

E. La minuterie contrôle tous les modes de fonctionnement de l'appareil.

Pour activer la minuterie, appuyez sur le bouton de minuterie , L'icône

s’illuminera et l’heure s’afﬁ chera sur l'écran à DEL. Pour choisir l’heure

désirée, appuyez sur le bouton de minuterie. Il y a 8 réglages (30 mins.,1h,

2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h et off) qui s’afﬁ cheront sur l’écran à DEL, chacun

représentant la durée de fonctionnement. Le foyer s’éteint à l’heure réglée.

F. Pour activer la lumière de décoration, appuyez sur le bouton de lumière .Trois niveaux sont offerts

pour faire déﬁ ler les différents ainsi qu’un réglage d’arrêt (d1, d2, d3 et d0). d1 blanc, d2 changement

de couleur, du blanc au orange, au bleu et au orange et bleu, et au blanc-orange et blanc et bleu et d3

pour verrouiller la couleur désirée. Il faudra 8,5 secondes pour passer d’une couleur à l’autre lorsque

le réglage d2 est sélectionné. (Seulement les modéles de NEFB27H et NEFB29H ont la fonction de

lumière de décoration.)

G. Pour éteindre l'appareil, appuyez une fois sur le bouton d’alimentation sur le télécommande, ou placez

l’interrupteur principal en position d’arrêt sur le panneau de contrôle de l’appareil.

NOTE: Pour que la télécommande fonctionne bien, elle doit toujours être à moins de 8 mètres ou 26

pieds de l’appareil.

NOTE: Lors de l’utilisation de la télécommande, vous devez la pointer vers le centre sur le devant de l’appareil.

A. Retirez les quatre vis à partir de l'appareil, comme

illustreé.

B. Retirez l'avant de verre et placez sur une surface douce

non abrasive.

C. Inverser ces étapes pour réinstaller le front de verre.

d’honorer toute réclamation. L’achat doit avoir été fait par l’entremise d’un détaillant NAPOLÉON® autorisé et sous réserve des

conditions et limitations suivantes :

La couverture de la garantie débute à partir de la date d’installation originale.

Cette garantie du fabricant n’est pas transférable et ne peut être prolongée ou étendue par aucun de nos représentants quelle qu’en

soit la raison.

L’installation doit être faite conformément aux instructions d’installation incluses avec le produit et à tous les codes d’incendie et de

construction locaux et nationaux.

Cette garantie limitée ne couvre pas les dommages causés par un mauvais usage, un manque d’entretien, un accident, des altérations,

des abus ou de la négligence, et l’installation de pièces d’autres fabricants annulera cette garantie.

Cette garantie limitée ne couvre pas non plus les égratignures, les bossellements, la corrosion ou la décoloration causée par

une chaleur excessive, des produits d’entretien chimiques et abrasifs ou l’écaillage de pièces en porcelaine émaillée, le bris par

manipulation des bûches Phazer®.

Au cours de la première année seulement, cette garantie s’étend à la réparation ou au remplacement des pièces garanties dont les

matériaux ou la fabrication sont défectueux à la condition que le produit ait été utilisé conformément aux instructions de fonctionnement

et dans des conditions normales.

NAPOLÉON ne sera pas responsable de l’installation, de la main d’œuvre ou autres coûts ou dépenses relatives à la réinstallation

d’une pièce garantie, et de telles dépenses ne sont pas couvertes par cette garantie. Nonobstant toutes les dispositions contenues

dans cette garantie limitée, la responsabilité de NAPOLÉON sous cette garantie est déﬁ nie comme ci-dessus et elle ne s’étendra à

aucun dommage accidentel, consécutif ou indirect.

Cette garantie déﬁ nit l’obligation et la responsabilité de NAPOLÉON en ce qui concerne l’appareil électrique NAPOLÉON. Toute autre

garantie énoncée ou implicite en ce qui concerne ce produit, ses composants ou accessoires est exclue.

NAPOLÉON n’endosse, ni n’autorise aucun tiers à assumer en son nom, toutes autres responsabilités concernant la vente de ce

produit.

Tous dommages causés à l’appareil, aux garnitures en laiton ou autres composants par l’eau, les dommages causés par les

intempéries, de longues périodes d’humidité, la condensation, des produits chimiques ou produits d’entretien nuisibles ne seront pas la

responsabilité de NAPOLÉON.

La facture ou sa copie sera requise ainsi que le numéro de série et le numéro de modèle lors d’une réclamation auprès de votre

détaillant autorisé. La carte d’enregistrement de garantie doit être retournée dans les quatorze jours pour enregistrer la garantie.

NAPOLÉON® se réserve le droit de demander à son représentant d’inspecter tout produit ou pièce avant d’honorer toute réclamation.

Toutes les pièces remplacées en vertu de la politique de la garantie limitée ne peuvent faire l’objet que d’une seule réclamation.

Toutes les pièces remplacées au titre de la garantie seront couvertes pour une période de 90 jours à partir de leur date d’installation.

Le fabricant peut exiger que les pièces défectueuses ou les produits soient retournés ou que des photos numériques soient fournies pour valider la

réclamation. Les produits retournés doivent être expédiés port payé au fabricant pour une inspection en usine. Si un produit est déclaré défectueux,

le fabricant le réparera ou le remplacera.

Avant d’expédier votre appareil ou les pièces défectueuses, votre détaillant doit obtenir un numéro d’autorisation. Toute marchandise expédiée à

notre usine sans autorisation sera refusée et retournée à l’expéditeur.

Les coûts d’expédition ne sont pas couverts par cette garantie.

Des frais de service supplémentaires peuvent être appliqués si vous cherchez à obtenir des services au titre de la garantie auprès d’un détaillant.

mondialement reconnu ISO 9001 : 2008.

Les produits NAPOLÉON sont conçus avec des composants et des matériaux de qualité supérieure, assemblés par

des artisans qualiﬁ és qui sont ﬁ ers de leur travail. Une fois assemblé, chaque foyer est soigneusement inspecté par un

technicien qualiﬁ é avant d’être emballé pour garantir que vous, le client, recevez le produit de qualité dont vous vous

attendez de NAPOLÉON.

Les composants électriques et les pièces soumises à l’usure tels que le ventilateur/l’appareil de chauffage, les

moteurs, les interrupteurs, les roulements à billes en nylon et les télécommandes sont couverts et NAPOLÉON fournira

gratuitement les pièces de rechange durant la première année de la garantie limitée.

Les ampoules et les fusibles NE SONT PAS couverts par la garantie.

Les coûts de main-d’oeuvre relatifs aux réparations garanties ne sont pas couverts.
