operating your appliance
1. Remove the right access panel from the side of the appliance.
2. Remove the front 2 screws from the inside edge (Fig. 2) before open-
ing the control door by lifting it up and out.
3. Remove the 2 screws holding the receiver in place.
4. Remove the receiver and replace.
2.2.1 changing the batteries
• Ensure the gas and electrical power to the appliance is turned off.
• Appliance may be hot, do not service until the appliance has cooled.
!
WARNING
4 AA batteries must be installed into the receiver before the appliance can
operate by battery backup. The receiver is located in the bottom right corner
of the appliance (Fig. 1).
note:
Ensure the 3 position slider switch is in the "REMOTE" position (middle
position).

note:
If your opening is too small, you may need to pull the appliance out
slightly.

Battery Installation (GDI3E-1)
1. Remove battery holder by sliding it forward
from the bracket (Fig. 3).
2. Install 4 batteries.
3. Reinstall battery holder.
