DEFROSTING TIPS HOLD WARM
When using Auto Defrost,theweight to be entered
isthe netweight inpounds and tenths of pounds
(theweight of thefood minus thecontainer).
Before starting, make sure you have removed any
ofthe metal twist-tieswhich often come with frozen
food bags, and replacethem with stringsor elastic
bands.
Open containers such as cartons beforethey are
placed in the oven.
Always slit or pierce plasticpouches or packaging.
If food is foil wrapped, remove foil and place it in a
suitable container.
Slit the skins, ifany, offrozen food such as
sausage.
Bend plastic pouches offood to ensure even
defrosting.
Always underestimate defrosting time. If defrosted
food isstill icy in thecenter, return itto the
microwave oven for more defrosting.
The length of defrostingtime varies accordingto
how solidly thefood isfrozen.
The shape of the package affects how quicklyfood
will defrost. Shallow packageswill defrost more
quickly than a deep block.
As food begins to defrost, separate the pieces.
Separated pieces defrost more easily.
Use small pieces of aluminum foil to shield parts
offood such as chickenwings, legtips, fish tails, or
areas that start toget warm. Make sure thefoil does
not touch the sides,top, or bottom of the oven. The
foil can damage theoven lining.
For better results, letfood stand after defrosting.

Turn over food during defrostingor standing time.
Break apart and removefood as required.
You can safely keep hot, cooked food warm in your
microwave oven for up to 99 minutes, 99 seconds
(about 1 hour, 40 minutes). You can use Hold Warm
by itself, or to automatically follow a cooking cycle.

At the end of the hold warm,COOK END will be
displayed and four tones will sound.
To make Hold Warm
automatically follow another cycle:
While you are touching in cooking instructions,
touch HoldWarm before touching START.
When the last cooking cycle is over, youwill hear
two tones. "HoldWarm" willcome on while the oven
continuesto run.
You can set HoldWarm tofollow Auto Defrost,
Cook,or two-stage cooking.
NOTES:
Hold Warm operates for up to 99 minutes, 99
seconds.
Opening theoven door cancels HoldWarm. Close
thedoor and touch HoldWarm, then touch
START ifadditional Hold Warm time is desired.
Food cooked covered should becovered during
Hold Warm.
Pastry items (pies,turnovers, etc.)should be
uncovered during HoldWarm.
Complete meals kept warm on a dinner plateshould
be covered during HoldWarm.
Do not use more thanone complete HoldWarm
cycle (about 1 hour,40 minutes). The qualityof
some foods will sufferwith extended time.
