MICROWAVE POWER LEVELS
For best results, some recipes callfor differentcook
powers. The lowerthe cook power, the slower the
cooking. Each numberfrom 1 to 9 stands for a
differentpercentage of full cook power.
Thefollowing chart gives the percentage of cook
power each number pad stands for, and thecook
power name usually used.
Italso tells you when to use each cook power. Follow
recipeor food package instructionsif available.
NOTE: Referto a reliablecookbook for cooking times
basedon the 1000 Watt cook powerof your microwave
oven.
COOK Power LEVEL WHEN TO USE IT
100% offull power High Quickly heating conveniencefoods and foods with
high water content,such as soups and beverages.
Cooking tender cuts of meat, ground meat,or
chicken.
9 = 90% offull power Heating cream soups.
8 = 80% offull power Heating rice, pasta,or casseroles.
7 = 70% offull power Medium-High Cooking and heating foods that need a
Cook Power lowerthan high (forexample,
whole fish and meatloaf) or when food is
cooking too fast.
Reheating a single serving offood.
6 = 60% offull power Cooking that requires special care, such as cheese
and egg dishes, pudding, andcustards.
Finishing cooking casseroles.
5 = 50% offull power Medium Cooking ham, whole poultry,and pot roasts.
Simmering stews.
4 = 40% offull power Melting chocolate.
Heating pastries.
3 = 30% offull power Medium-Low, Manually defrosting foods, such as bread,fish,
Defrost meats, poultry,and precooked foods.
2 = 20% offull power Softening butter,cheese, and ice cream.
1= 10% offull power Low Keeping food warm.

NOTE: Oncecook time has been entered, you can also use the Cook Power pad as a second Kitchen
