tion is generally a warning of trouble.
Stop the engine (motor) whenever you
leave the operating position_ Also, remove
the ignition key before unclogging the
auger/impeller housing or disch,_rge
chute, and when making any repairs,
adjustments, or inspections. Remove wire
from spark plug to prevent accidental
starting.
When cleaning, repairing, or inspecting,
make certain the augedimpeller and all
moving parts have stopped. Remove the
ignition key to prevent accidental starting.
Never attempt to make any adjustments
while the engine is running except when
specifically recommended by the manu-
facturer.
Maintain or replace safety and instruction
labels, as necessary.
Run the snow thrower a few minutes after
throwing snow to prevent freeze-up of the
.auger/impeller°

tem is equipped with a spark arrester meet-
ing applicable local or state taws (if any). if a
spark arrester is used, it should be main-
tained in effective working order by the op-
erator.
In the state of California the spark attester is
required by law (Section 4442 of the Califor-
nia Public Resources Code). Other states
may have similar taws. Federal laws appIy
on federal lands. A spark arrester/muffler is
available through your nearest Sears Autho-
rized Service Center (See ENGINE REPAIR
PARTS section in this manual).
