BEFOREOPERATING:ENTIRESYSTEMMUSTBEFILLEDWITHWATERANDAIRPURGEDFROMALLLINES.
A. Thisappliancedoesnothavea pilot. It isequippedwith
an ignitiion device which automatically lights the
burner. Do no.it try to light the burner by hand.
B. BEFOREOPERATINGsmellall aroundtheappliance
areaforgas. Besuretosmellnexttothefloorbecause
somegasisheavierthanair andwill settleonthefloor,
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electric switch;
do not use any phone in your building.
Immediatelycallyourgassupplierfroma neighbor's
phone. Follow the gas supplier's instructions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the
fire department.
C. Use only your hand to push in the gas control but-
tons. Neverusetools. If the control buttonswill not
pushin,don'ttry to repair them,calla qualifiedser-
vice technician. Force or attempted repair may
result in a fire or explosion.
D. Do not use this appliance if any part has been
under water. Immediately contact a qualified
installer or service agency to replace a flooded
water heater. Do not attempt to repair the unit.
It must be replaced!

2. Set the ON/OFF switch on the control box to the
"ON" position.
3. Set the thermostat to the lowest settinq bv first
pressing theCOOLER _ and HOTTER"_ but-
tons togetherand holding-for1second. Ther_press
the COOLER button (_ until the Warm indicator
light appears.
4. Set the ON/OFF switch on the control box to the
"OFF" position.
5. This appliance is equipped with a device
which automatically lights the burner.
DONOT TRYTO LIGHTTHE BURNERBYHAND.
6. Waitfive (5) minutesto_ clear out any gas.
If you then smell gas_STOP! Follow "B"in
the safety information above on this label. If you
don't smell gas, go to the next step.
7. Turn on all electrical power to the appliance.
8. Set the ON/OFF switch on the control box to the
"ON" postition.
9. Set the thermostat to the desired setting bv first
pressingthe COOLER (-,,) and HOTTER _ but-
tons together and holding-for1 second.Thenpress
the HOTTER button (_)
10.WATER TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT Vis
approximately 120°R
_ AUTION: Hotterwater increases the risk of
scald injury. Consult the instruction
manual before changing temperature.
11.Ifthe appliance will notoperate, follow the instruc-
tions "TO TURN OFF GAS TOAPPLIANCE" and
call your technician or gas supplier.
_ ARNING: TURN OFF ALL ELECTRIC
POWER BEFORE SERVICING.
