WITHPARKINGBRAKE "ENGAGED"
TO REPLACE MOWER BLADE DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 25)
The mower blade drive belt may be replaced without toots_
Park the tractor on level surface° Engage parking brake.
BELT REMOVAL -
• Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED" position,
° Move attachment lift lever forward to lowermowerto its
_owestposition°
• Roll belt off engine pulley_
o Work bett off both mandrel pulleys and idler' pulley.
o Pull belt away from mower.
BELT INSTALLATION -
• {nstall new belt in reverse order of removal.
= Make sure belt is inalt pulley grooves and insideall belt
guides,

TO ADJUST BRAKE (See Fig. 26)
Your tractor'is equipped with an adjustable brake system
which is mounted on the right side of the transaxle,
If tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance
at high speed in highest gear, then brake mustbe adjusted°
o Depressclutch,'10rake pedaland engage parkingbrake°
• Measure distance between brake operating arm and
nut "A" on brake rod.
° If distance is other than 1-1/2", disengage parking
brake, loosen jam nut and turn nut "A" until distance
becomes 1-1/2". Retighten jam nut against nut "A".
° Engage parking brake and recheckdistance.
° Road test tractorfor properstoppingdistanceas stated
above., Readjust if necessary. If stopping distance is
still greater than six (6) feet in highest gear', further
maintenance is necessary_. Contact your nearest au-
thorized service center_'department_
TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 27)
Park the tractor on level surface° Engage parking brake,_
For assistance, there is a belt installation guide decal on
bottom side of left footrest,
• Remove mower (See 'q'O REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manuaL)
° Remove upper belt keeper,
° Remove beR from stationary idler and clutching idler_
° Pull belt slack toward rear of tractor, Remove belt
upwards from transaxle pulley by deflecting belt keep-
ers,,
° Pul]belt toward front of tractorand remove downwards
from around engine pulley.
° Install new belt by reversing above procedure.,
IMPORTANT; MAKE SURE UPPER BELT KEEPER IS
POSITIONED PROPERLY BETWEEN LOCATOR TABS.
