DIFFICULT STARTING OR
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
Theenginemay befloodedifithasnot
startedafter10 pulls.Floodedengines
canbe clearedofexcessfuelwiththe
following procedure:
° Activatethefast idlelock.
Startingcouldrequiremanypullsde-
pendingon how badlyunitisflooded.If
enginestillfalls to start,refertoTROU-

Checkchaintensionbeforefirstuse
andafter 1 minute ofoperation.See

Cutwoodonly.Do notcutmetal,plas-
tics,masonry, non-woodbuildingma-
terials,etc.
Stopthesaw ifthechainstrikesa for-
eignobject. Inspectthe sawand re-
pairpartsas necessary.
Keep thechainoutofdirtandsand.
Evena smallamountofdirtwillquick-
lydulla chainand increasethepossi-
bilityofkickback.
Practicecuttingafew smalllogsusing
thefollowing steps.Thiswillhelpyou
getthe =feel"ofusingyoursawbefore
youbegina major sawingoperation.
Squeezethe throttletriggerandal-
low theenginetoreachfull speed
beforecutting.
Begincuttingwiththesawframe
againstthe log.
Keepthe engineat fullspeedthe
entiretime youare cutting.
Allowthe chaintocut for you.Exert
onlylightdownwardpressure.
° Releasethethrottletdggeras soon
as thecutiscompleted,allowingthe
engineto idle. Ifyou runthesaw at
full throttlewithouta cuttingload,
unnecessarywearcan occur.
Toavoidlosingcontrolwhencutis
complete,donotputpressureon
sawat end ofcut.
Stoptheengine beforesetting the
