ADJUSTMENTS
Drive Control
Whenthedrivecontrolis releasedandin thedisengaged"up"position,
the cableshouldhavevery little slack.It shouldNOTbetight. Also,
ifthereisexcessiveslackin thedrive cableor if the unitexperiences
intermittentdrivewhileusing,the cable mayneedto be adjusted.
Checktheadjustmentof the drivecontrolas follows:
1. Withthedrivecontrolreleased,pushthe snowthrowergently
forward.The unitshouldrollfreely.
2. Engagethe drivecontrolandgentlyattemptto pushthe snow
throwerforward.Thewheelsshouldnotturn.The unitshouldnot
rollfreely.
If anyof the abovetestsfailed,the drivecable isin needof adjustment.
Proceedas follows:
1. Shutoff theengineas instructedinthe Operationsection.
2. Loosenthe lowerhexbolt on the drivecable bracket.See Figure
19.
3. Positionthe bracketupwardto providemoreslack(or downward
to increasecabletension).
4. Retightenthe lowerhex bolt.
5. Checktheadjustmentof the drivecontrolas describedabove.
Chute Bracket
If the spiralat the bottomof the chutedirectionalcontrolisnotfully
engagingwith the chuteassembly,the chutebracketcan beadjusted.
Todo so:
1. Loosenthe two nuts whichsecurethechutebracketandreposi-
tion itslightly.See Figure20.
2. Retightenthe nuts.
