ENGmNEOiL FmLTER
Replacethe engineoil filter every season
or everyother oil change if the tractor is
used morethan 100 hours in one year.
AmRFILTER
Yourenginewill not run properlyusing a
dirty air filter. Replacepre-cleanerafter
every 25 hoursof operationor every
season. Service papercartridgeevery
100 hoursof operationor every season,
whicheveroccurs first.
Service air cleaner moreoften underdusty
conditions.
1. Pull up on air filter cover handleand
rotatetowardsengine.
2. Removecover.
3. Carefullyremoveair filter cartridgeand
pre-cleanerfrom base.
4. Clean basecarefully to preventdebris
from falling into carburetor.
NOTE:If verydirty or damaged,replace
cartridge.
5. Place newpre-cleanerand cartridge
firmly in base.
6. Align tabson coverwith slotsin blower
housingand replacecover.
7. Hook handleon coverand pushdown
on handleto close.
iMPORTANT: Petroleumsolvents,such
as kerosene,are not to be usedto clean
the cartridge. They may causedeterio-
rationof the cartridge. Do not oil car-
tridge. Do not use pressurizedair to clean
cartridge.
CLEAN AmRSCREEN
Air screen mustbe kept free of dirt and
chaffto preventenginedamagefrom
overheating. Cleanwith a wire brushor
compressedair to removedirt and stub-
born driedgum fibers.
ENGmNECOOLINGSYSTEM
Debris mayclog the engine'sair cool-
ing system.Removeblower housingand
cleanarea shownto preventoverheating
and enginedamage.
Air Screen
Clean out chaff and debris
MUFFLER
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and
spark arrester (if equipped) as it could cre-
ate a fire hazard and/or damage,
SPARK PLUG(S)
Replace spark plug(s) at the beginning
of each mowing season or after every
100 hours of operation, whichever occurs
first. Spark plug type and gap setting are
shown in "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS"
section of this manual,
Cartridge
iN-LiNE FUEL FILTER
The fuel filter should be replaced once
each season. If fuel filter becomes
clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carbu-
retor, replacement is required.
1. With engine cool, remove filter and
plug fuel line sections.
2. Place new fuel filter in position in fuel
line with arrow pointing towards carbu-
retor.
3. Be sure there are no fuel line leaks
and clamps are properly positioned.
4. Immediately wipe up any spilled gaso-
line.
