EQUIPMENT SAFETY
Your safety and the safety of others are very important.
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your
unit.
Always read and obey all safety messages.
If the information in this manual is not followed exactly, a fire or explosion may result causing property
damage, personal injury or death.
The product shall be installed according to the statement that the installation must conform with
local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI
Z223.1/NFPA 54.
The product must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes or, in the absence of
local
codes, with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 or the Canadian Electric Code, CSA
C22.1-02.
Make sure the gas connection complies with local codes and regulations. In the absence of local codes,
installations must comply with the American National Standard, National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223 /
NFPA 54 or Canadian CAN / CGA_B 149.1 or CAN / CGA-149.2.
The appliance and its individual shutoff valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system
during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of ½ psi (3.5 kPa).
The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing its individual manual shut-
off valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test pressures equal
to or
less than 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa).
Always disconnect all cord-connected appliances before servicing. Appliances shall include
instructions relative to location of the wall receptacle and a warning to the user to disconnect the
electrical supply before servicing the appliance.
CAUTION: Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the
vicinity of this or any other appliance.
Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas
supplier.
Save any nozzles removed from the appliance for future use.
The maximum depth of cabinets installed above the cooktop should be 13 inches (330 mm).
Keep the appliance clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable
vapors and liquids.
Do not obstruct the flow of gas or block any air vents.
Shut off gas to the unit by manually closing the independent gas valve before performing any
pressure testing of the gas supply system with test pressures equal to or lower than 1/2 psi (3.5
kPa).
The use of a gas cooking appliance produces heat and moisture in the room in which it is
installed. The room must be well ventilated.
Intensive and lengthy use of the appliance may require additional ventilation. This can be
achieved by opening a window or by increasing the power of the mechanical exhaust system, if
installed.
NOTE: This appliance is intended for residential use only.
