WARNING:

any sharp object cannot accidentally

• Store chain caw well out of the reach
of children.
EXTERNAL SURFACES
Ifyour chain caw Is to be stored for a
period of time, clean itthoroughly be-
fore storage. Store in a clean dry area.
• Ughtly oil extemal metal surfaces and
guide bar.
• Oil the chain and wrap it in heavy pa-
per or cloth.
FUEL SYSTEM
Under Fueling Engine in the Operating
Section ofthis manual, see message
labeled IMPORTANTregarding the use
of gasohol in your chain saw.
Fuel stabilizer is an acceptable altema-
tive in minimizingthe formation of fuel
gum deposits during storage. Add stabi-
lizer to the gasoline in the fuel tank or
fuel storage container. Follow the mix
instructionsfound on stabilizer contain-
ere. Run engine at least 5 minutes after
adding stabilizer.
CRAFTSMAN 40:1, 2-cycle engine oil
(air cool.eel..) is especially blended with
fuel stabilizer. If you do not use this
Sears oil, you can add a fuel stabilizer
to yourfuel tank.
ENGINE
• Remove spark plug and pour I tea-
spoon of 40:.1,2-cycle engine oil (air
cooled) through the spark plug open-
ing. Slowly pull the starter rope 8 to
10 times to distribute oH.
• Replace spark plugwith new one of
recommended type and heat range.
• Clean airfilter.
• Check entire unitfor loose screws,
nuts, and bolts. Replace any dam-
aged, broker), orwom parts.
• At the beginhlng of the next season,
use onlyfresh fuel having the proper
gasoline to oil ratio.
OTHER
• Do notstore gasoline from one sea-
son to another.
• Replace your gasoline can if it starts
to rust.
