Connecting the Adapters
Connecting the Adapter is a relatively simple process. First, connect one
Adapter to the TV or set-top box, the broadband modem or router, and
the coaxial network to establish the Internet signal. en, additional
Adapters can be installed throughout the home or oce at any location
Ethernet Internet access is needed, and an available coaxial port is
available.
Connecting the First Adapter
e rst Adapter must be connected to the TV or set-top box, the
broadband modem or router, and the coaxial network. is Adapter takes
the Internet signal from the modem/router and delivers it to the coaxial
network, while keeping the TV/set-top box connected.
To connect the rst Adapter:
1. Remove the end of the coaxial cable connected to the TV or set-top
box from its coaxial wall port.
2. Connect the end of the coaxial cable removed in step 1 to the TV/STB
Out coaxial port on the side of the Adapter.
3. Connect another coaxial cable into the coaxial wall port le
unconnected in step 1.
4. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable installed in step 3 to the
Coax In coaxial port on the side of the Adapter
5. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of the
modem/router.
6. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on
the side of the Adapter.

Connecting Additional Adapters
If necessary, additional Adapters can be placed at locations around the
home or oce that need an Ethernet Internet connection, but currently
only have a coaxial port.
To connect additional Adapters:
1. Find a coaxial wall port near the desired location and unplug the
coaxial cable connected to the TV or set-top box. If no device is
plugged into this coaxial wall port, skip to step 3.
2. Connect the end of the coaxial cable removed in step 1 to the TV/STB
Out coaxial port on the side of the Adapter.
3. Connect a coaxial cable into the coaxial wall port indicated in step 1.
4. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable installed in step 3 to the
Coax In port on the side of the Adapter.
5. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of the
device to connect to the Internet.
6. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on
the side of the Adapter.
7. Plug the provided power adapter into the Power port on the side of
the Adapter.

ScreenBeam ECB6250K02 Questions and Answers

#1 Will this automatically syncs with my router and create the same network name and password? The one I bought from Verizon does

It does automatically sync. It created the same network name with an EXT behind it and it kept the same password. So I now see two networks with the same name, one with EXT behind it

#2 Will it work with frontier fios quantumrouter with active cable tv subscription? do i need frontier to do anything to make it work?

It will work with that router as well. No, extender just need to be connected with a coax line.

#3 When you get the verizon branded one it matches your wifi name exactly. is there a way to do this on this one, without "-ext"

Yes, you can access the interface of the unit and manually configure the wireless settings as desired.

#4 Can a router manage multiple near moca's and can i insert an unmanaged switch between the far moca unit and multiple ip cameras?

You would need to contact the router mfg to verify but if it has Ethernet or MoCA capability the answer should be yes. You can use a switch connected to these to allow multiple device connections.

#5 Why is this offered in a single unit, wouldn't you need at the minimum two to work?

Yes, you need a minimum of two to get started, but you can add additional individual stations by multiplexing the coax output of the primary unit.

#6 Does it support custom key for moca encryption?

Yes,to save settings the adapter must be disconnected from the coax network. Settings must be changed on all adapters before reconnecting to the network you may need to use a different browser or disable security programs.

#7 Will the tv/stb port provide passthrough data from the wall to a cable modem if no seprate splitter is used or will it only pass TV signals?

It is capable to simultaneously send and receive the data as well as TV signals through the coax.

#8 Will this work if I have internet and cable television in the home or only if I have internet?

In Both cases it will work but if you have internet and cable services than both should be from same provider. ECB adapter is compatible with cable services but not satellite services.

#9 If i plug the coaxial cable from the wall to the bridge and than the ethernet cord to the tivo mini will that work?

No. You need at least 2 MOCAs and a cable filter. Please view the Actiontec video in YouTube. The filter is for security and for your Ethernet signal to stay with in you premises.

#11 Could you use one adaptor?

Yes. If the router is MoCA enabled, you can use only one adaptor in any room where you want but there should be a coax outlet.

#12 What is a 2 pack? two adapters? or two sets of adapters, totaling four adapters?

It is 2 adapters total, so comes with what is pictured. There is an option to buy individually as well.

#13 Can I use 1 adapter at the back of my modem and the other on the end of a dedicated coax to a wireless router for WiFi in my shop?

I used the adapters to enable my coax to provide a dual function as cable tv and internet service for my Tivo in order to eliminate my Tivo's wireless adapter. It works great for that, no buffering.
