Beef
Pot Roast 5–7 Add enough liquid to just cover meat.
If adding vegetables, make sure they are
completely covered by liquid.
Chili 5–8 Precook meat. Stir after 3 hours, if possible.
Chicken
Stewing 4–6 Add 4 cups liquid. Insert probe into
meatiest area of thigh from below end and
parallel to leg. Turn over after 1/2 of time.
Broiler/Fryer 3–4 Same as above.
Ham/Pork
Roast 4–6 Add 4 cups liquid.
Soup
Stock/Vegetable 7–10 Make sure that vegetables and meat are
covered by liquid. Stir every 3 hours.
Split Pea 5–7 Add enough liquid to cover peas at least
2 inches (5 cm). Stir after 3 hours.

How to Use the Probe to Simmer
The Simmer feature heats food to 180°F
(82°C). and holds it at that temperature
up to 12 hours or until you remove it and
press CLEAR/OFF.
1.Insert the temperature probe into the
food, resting it on the side of the dish.
Attach it securely in the oven wall.
2.Press COOK/ROAST TEMP 4 times to
select Simmer.
3.Press START. If you need to stir the food,
restart the oven by pressing START again.
When the simmer temperature is
reached, the oven holds the food at
that temperature until CLEAR/OFF
is pressed.
