Tools needed: 5/16in. hex-head socket wrench, #2 Phillips
screwdriver, fiat-blade screwdriver, 5/16in. open-end wrench, fiat
2 in. putty knife.
IMPORTANT:
Before you begin, turn the lower compartment control OFF,
unplug convertible refrigerator/freezer or disconnect power.
Remove food and any adjustable door or utility bins from
doors.
If you only want to remove and replace the doors, see the
"Door and Hinge Removal" and "Door and Hinge
Replacement" sections.
All graphics referenced inthe following instructions are
included later in this section after "Final Steps."
Door and Hinge Removal
5A6 in. Hex-Head Hinge Screw
1. Unplug convertible refrigerator/freezer or disconnect power.
2. Open the lower compartment door and remove the base grille
from the bottom front of the convertible refrigerator/freezer as
shown in Base Grille graphic.
3. Close the lower compartment door and keep both doors
closed until you are ready to lift them free from the cabinet.
NOTE: Provide additional support for the doors while the
hinges are being moved. Do not depend on the door magnets
to hold the doors in place while you are working.

Remove the parts for the top hinge as shown in Top Hinge
graphic. Lift the upper compartment door free from the
cabinet.
Remove the parts for the center hinge as shown in the Center
Hinge graphic. Lift the lower compartment door free from the
cabinet.
Remove the parts for the bottom hinge as shown in the
Bottom Hinge graphic.
IMPORTANT: if you want to reverse your doors so that they
swing in the opposite direction, follow these steps, if you are not
reversing the doors, see "Door and Hinge Replacement."
Door Reversal (optional)

Cabinet
1. Remove 5/16in. hex-head hinge screws from handle side and
move them to opposite side (see Graphic 1-1).
Remove cabinet hinge hole plugs from the cabinet top and
move them to opposite side hinge holes as shown (see
Graphic 1-2).

Doors
1. Remove door hinge hole plug from top of upper compartment
door. Move to opposite side as shown (see Graphic 2).
2. Remove door stop from both the lower and upper
compartment door (see Graphic 3).
NOTE: When reversing the door, the upper compartment handle
becomes the lower compartment door handle and the lower
compartment door handle becomes the upper compartment
handle (see Door Handle Reversal graphic).
3. Remove upper compartment handle assembly as shown.
Keep all parts together (see Graphic 4).
4. Remove lower compartment handle assembly as shown.
Keep all parts together (see Graphic 5).
5. Rotate and position handle from lower compartment door
onto upper compartment door and assemble as shown (see
Graphic 6).
6. Rotate and position handle from upper compartment door
onto lower compartment door and assemble as shown (see
Graphic 7).
7. Reinstall door stops to opposite side (see Graphic 8).
Door and Hinge Replacement
NOTE: Graphic may be reversed if door swing is reversed.
1. Assemble the parts for the bottom hinge as shown. Tighten
screws (see Bottom Hinge graphic). Replace the lower
compartment door.
NOTE: Provide additional support for the doors while the
hinges are being moved. Do not depend on the door magnets
to hold the doors in place while you are working.
2. Assemble the parts for the center hinge as shown (see Center
Hinge graphic). Tighten all screws. Replace the upper
compartment door.
3, Assemble the parts for the top hinge as shown, Do not
tighten completely (see Top Hinge graphic).
4, Line up the doors so that the bottom of the upper
compartment door aligns evenly with the top of the lower
compartment door, Tighten all screws.
Final Steps
1,
Check all holes to make sure that hole plugs and screws are
in place. Reinstall top hinge cover (see Top Hinge graphic).
NOTE: if you have reversed the door swing you will need to
fill the bottom hinge holes with the removable tab located on
the left-hand side of the base grille. Break off the tab from the
base grille and insert the hinge hole plug into the bottom
hinge holes (see Base Grille graphic).
2. Replace the base grille (see the Base Grille graphic).
3. Plug in convertible refrigerator/freezer or reconnect power.
4. Reset the controls, see "Using the Controls" section,
depending on your model.
5. Return all removable door parts to doors and food to the
convertible refrigerator/freezer.
