Lutron L-BDG2-WH Questions and Answers

#1 Is it possible to control lights in multiple homes via one Smart Bridge - e.g. a primary residence and a vacation home?

Assuming your primary residence and vacation home are not located next to each other, you will require two bridges (and internet connectivity). You will need a bridge at each location. Most likely your app will be able to control both locations from your phone.

#2 Can I add some device to the network to allow occupancy sensing to these switches? I want the lights to turn off automatically when everyone leaves.

No occupancy sensors available when using the SmartBridge or SmartBridge Pro.

#3 Can someone tell me the color of the switches?

Mine were white. You can look at the model id for that. WH implies white. They have other colors but you would need to check lutrons side for model numbers. Definately not the cream/ivory found in a lot of houses so double-check.

#4 Can the dimmer be used to control the speed of a ceiling fan?

No, this is a dimmer for light fixtures either CFL, MLV, LED, and incandescent. I believe the Caseta family has a ceilingn fan control, but it's not sold in a bundle.

#5 Can it work with echo? Does in wall dimmer switch require a neutral wire?

It works great with my Echo and integrates easily. These dimmers do not require a neutral wire, they only have two black wires and one green ground wire. The other lutron switches (the ones that don't dim but are on/off) require a neutral wire. I have used both types in my house because they are for different lights.

#6 Can these work with LED rope lights?

Check with the manufacturer of the LED rope lights. There are too many brands out there to know for sure.
