GE - General Electric JGB690DEF1WW Questions and Answers

#1 Is the griddle on modelJGB750DEFWW available for
JGB690? Is middle burner 6 or 8k btu? Is there a
recommended cookware for the high output burners?
What is the difference between convection bake and
convection roast?

The center burner is 8000 BTU. You can use the griddle
for model JGB750 for this model. The part number is
WB31K10217. You can order through the following link:
https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/omni_key=NavG
ea
You can also order a griddle through specialty stores.
Make sure the griddle is safe to use with 8000 BTU's. Any
cookware that is safe to use with gas will be fine. Make
certain the flame size on the gas burner matches the
cookware you are using.

Convection Bake - Ideal for evenly browned baked foods
cooked on all 3 shelves, and great for large quantities of
baked goods. Achieve good results with cookies, biscuits,
muffins, cream puffs, bread, angel food cake, and so on.
The fan evenly circulates air throughout the oven cavity.
The convection fan comes on just as soon as a convection
cycle is set-up.For models without Auto Recipe
Conversion, reduce the temperature by 25 degrees
Fahrenheit. Most recipes will give times and temperatures
for cooking in regular, conventional (thermal) ovens, so
adjust accordingly.

Convection Roast - Recommended for larger, tender cuts
of meat or poultry. Heated air seals in juices quickly for a
moist and tender product.
Heat comes from the broil (top) element on some models,
and on newer models from the broil (top) and bake
(bottom) element.Preheating is not necessary.
Using the roasting rack provided, heated air will be
circulated evenly throughout the cavity, browning the food
on all sides as if it were being cooked on a rotisserie.
I hope this is helpful. Thank you for checking with us.
