TWAIN or WIA errors
appear when starting
to scan. (Windows
®
)
The TWAIN or WIA driver was not
chosen as the primary source in your
scanning application.
Make sure the Brother TWAIN or WIA driver is
chosen as the primary source in your scanning
application. For example, in OmniPage SE 18, click
Scan Settings and then Select to select the Brother
TWAIN/WIA driver.
TWAIN errors appear
when starting to scan.
(Macintosh)
TWAIN driver was not chosen as the
primary source in your scanning
application.
Make sure the Brother TWAIN driver is chosen as
the primary source.
In PageManager 9, click File, Select Source and
select the Brother TWAIN driver.
OS X v10.8.x, 10.9.x, 10.10.x or later users can
also scan documents using the ICA Scanner Driver.
My scanned images
have black lines
running through them,
blank spaces, or are of
overall bad quality.
This problem occurs if a foreign object,
such as a paper clip or ripped paper, is
stuck in the scanner.
Check the ADF slot and make sure that the slot is
clear. If foreign objects are found, remove them
from your scanner.
My scanned image is
missing.
The Document Guides are not adjusted
to fit the width of the document.
Adjust the Document Guide to fit the width of the
document. When Cropping is set to Automatic
(Deskew ON) and you are scanning a document
that contains multiple page sizes, insert narrow
pages straight and as close to the center of the
machine as possible. If the document does not stay
straight while feeding, use Continuous Scanning.
The settings are not suitable for your
document. For example, an A4
document is fed when Letter was
selected as the document size.
Make sure the document size settings are suitable
for your document.

The scan speed is too
slow.
The resolution is not suitable for your
document.
Decrease the scanner resolution.
