3. Make sure that the sensor tip and al-
so the ear canal are clean. As the ear
canal is slightly curved, you have to
pull the ear slightly up and backwards
before inserting the sensor tip. This
is important so that the sensor tip can
be pointed directly at the eardrum.
Positioning on small children
On infants under 1 year of age:
Lay down the infant such that one ear is pointing
upwards.
Pull the ear gently backwards before you carefully
insert the sensor tip into the ear.
In small children older than 1:
Stand slightly to the side behind the child.
Pull the ear gently up and backwards before you
carefully insert the sensor tip into the ear.

Insert the sensor tip carefully and hold down the
ON/MEAS button for one second.
5. The measured value appears on the display and the
end of the measuring is signalled by a short beep (if
button tone is activated).
6. If the measured value is within the normal range
(<38°C/100.4°F), the green LED lights up. If the mea
-
sured value is higher (≥ 38°C/100.4°F, high tempera-
ture), the red LED is illuminated.
7. The device switches o automatically after 60 seconds.
8. Clean the device after every use as described in the “Cleaning and
storage” chapter.
9.3 Measuring object temperatures
1. Hold down the ON/MEAS button for one second to switch on
the multi functional thermometer.
2. Then hold down the M button and the S button simultaneously for
3 seconds to switch to object temperature mode.

point the sensor tip towards the object or
liquid to be measured (never immerse in liq

uids), maintaining a distance of 3 cm.

The measured value appears on the

5. To exit object temperature mode, hold down the M button and the
S button simultaneously again for 3 seconds.

7. Please note that the displayed temperature is the measured and
not the adapted surface temperature. It is not the same as the fore
-
head/ear temperature.
9.4 Displaying stored measurements
The device automatically stores the values from the last 30 measure-
ments. When 30 memory spaces are exceeded, the oldest value is deleted.
The stored values can be called up as follows:
1.
Hold down the ON/MEAS button for one second to switch on the
multi functional thermometer.
2. Press the M button. The most recent measurement appears on the
display.
3.
To switch between the individual stored measurements, press the
M button.
4. The device switches o automatically after 60 seconds.
