Caller ID not functioning:
1. If possible, connect the phone to a different jack or line. Test for Caller ID. If you have other phones in
your home with the Caller ID feature and none of them are working, please call local Telco to report
problem.
2. If Caller ID information does not come in properly on every call, this doesn't indicate a problem with the
phone. Interference between the handset and the base at the time of the call can prevent Caller ID. If
the customer is close to being out of range or a temporary problem on the line can also cause this issue.
This does not indicate a problem with the telephone
3. If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY phone
jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause static/noise, squealing (similar to fax tones), caller ID
disruption and other issues on your line.
4. Caller ID and Call Waiting ID are subscription services, available from most local telephone service
providers. You must subscribe to these services in order for the features to work on your
phone. Contact your local telephone service provider for more information regarding this service.
5. All the phones in your home may not start ringing at the same time. Please wait until this phone rings
to look for the Caller ID info. Most telcos send the CID information by the second ring; however it could
take as many as 5 rings.
6. There should not be any equipment between the jack and the Caller ID phone. This includes fax
machines, adapters, answering systems, etc. Having equipment in between the jack and the phone can
cause the Caller ID information to be lost before it reaches the phone. Please plug the unit directly into
the phone jack.
7. Unplug all other Caller ID units. It is possible that they could interfere with each other. If this works
then those units cannot be used with each other.
8. If you have an answering system. it should be set to answer no sooner than 3 or 4 rings. If it answers
too quickly, the Caller ID data may not be received.
