Troubleshooting Tips:
No Dial Tone:
1. If you have connected this telephone to a phone jack that has not been used before, or that has not
been used in sometime, there may be problems with this jack that you are not aware of. Use a telephone
jack that you know is in proper working order.
2. You may have a defective telephone cord. Try replacing cord between the jack and the telephone
base.
3. If the other phones in your home are having the issue, the problem could be related to the telephone
wiring in your home, or with your local telephone service. Please call your service provider for further
assistance.
4. Check the installation of the unit. Make sure the telephone line cord is connected from the base unit to
a telephone jack. If the cord is already plugged in, unplug the cord at both ends and reconnect.
5. If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the
following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step
2: Disconnect the handset battery(s). Step 3:Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the
telephone base. Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery(s). Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset
to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again.
Poor Audio Quality/Static:
1. Take the phone to another jack and test it. If the phone works, there may be an issue with the original
jack. If it still does not work, try another phone, preferably a corded phone. If you do not have a different
phone, test your unit at another location, such as a friend's or neighbor's home. If the problem persists,
your phone may have a malfunction. If the unit functions, you may have line or wiring problem. Contact
your telephone company.
2. If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY phone
jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause static/noise, squealing (similar to fax tones), Caller ID
disruption and other issues on your line. DSL filters block the high frequency DSL signals from being
transmitted to the telephone.
3. Other electronic products such as HAM Radios and other DECT Phones can cause interference with
your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic
devices.
4. Try changing the (EQ) equalizer setting on your handset. This feature allows you to change the audio
quality to best suit your hearing. If it's set to Treble 1 or Treble 2 try setting it to Bass or Natural.
5. If your phone shares a power outlet with a modem, or if it is plugged in to a shared surge protector, it
may create static or noise. Try plugging the phone (or modem/surge protector) in at a different location. If
this solves the problem, re-locate your phone or modem farther apart from one another, or use separate
surge protectors.
6. The location of the base may limit the connection between the handset and the base. For example: if
you have a multi-story house or building with the base downstairs and a handset upstairs, you may not
get a good signal. Or, you may not have a good signal if the base is behind a wall and you are using the
handset outside.
7. Your handset being out of range of the base may cause a poor connection. Move the handset closer to
the base.
8. If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the
following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step
