PLACEMENT AND FINE TUNING

Correctplacementofyourspeakersisthemostimportant

thingyoucandotogetthebestpossiblesoundqualityfrom

them.ItisespeciallyimportantwithaDolbyAtmossystem.

Taketimetoexperimentwithpositioningaccordingtothe

guidelinesbelow.

Whetherthespeakersareusedinthefrontorrearsurround

channels,thetweeter(thesmallerdriveronthefrontbafe

ofthespeaker,notthedriveronthetopofthespeaker)

shouldbepositionednearearlevelandthecompactspeakers

separatedadistanceapproximatelyequaltothelisteningdis-

tance.Anglingthecompactspeakersinwardtowardsthe

listenerseatedinthecenterwillimprovetheimagestabilityfor

non-centrallisteners.Closeproximitytoasideorrearwall

willenhancethebassperformance,althoughtooclose(par-

ticularlyacornerlocation)andthebassmaybeunnaturally

highandimageperformancemaybedegraded.Bestresults

willbeobtainedwhenthecompactspeakerisplaced

approximately2feetfromthewall.Ifacornerlocationis

unavoidable,trytopositionthecompactspeakersothat

thedistancetotherearwallisnotequaltothedistancetothe

sidewall.
