When sewing with a zigzag stitch, use
straight stitches at the beginning and end of
the zigzag stitch for reinforcement.

CAUTION
Satin stitch
When the stitch length is set in the area noted with
an F and the stitch width is set greater than 0.5, it
produces a Satin Stitch (a close zigzag stitch). The
Satin Stitch can be used for making buttonholes and
decorative stitches or edging.
Note
It is recommended that a test sample be
made on a fabric scrap before sewing on
your project.
Blind hem stitching
Memo
When the size of cylindrical pieces is too
small to slide onto the arm or the length is
too short, the fabric will not feed and
desired results may not be achieved.

Reverse the skirt or pants.

Fold the fabric along the desired edge of
the hem, and press.
Slowly turn the handwheel toward you
(counterclockwise) and check that the
needle does not touch the presser foot. If
the needle hits the presser foot, the needle
may bend or break.
