#1 Is this filterless?

No, and it broke in less than 3 months time. I would not
recommend this coffee maker.

#2 Is there a red ball on the side indicating water level as water
is being added?

No there is not a red ball that would be a good idea. I’ve
never seen one like that

No floating ball in this unit...but it's clear along the side of
the reservoir so you can easily see the water level , which is
marked in cups....

#4 How hot is the coffee in degrees. Anybody take a temp
reading ?

The initial brew from the coffee maker is warm. It does get
hotter when it sits on burner. Sorry I didn’t take temps.

#5 Which replacement carafe would fit this coffee maker?

I don’t have that information but if yours is broken it would
probably be as cheap or cheaper to purchase a whole new
maker by time you buy a new decanter and pay for
shipping.

#6 Basket in this maker smells like burnt plastic? Anyone else?

My basket does not smell. but the top of the water reservoir
doesn't close tightly so maybe that allows the odor to
dissipate.

#7 When programmed, can it make the coffee and then turn
off? I don't want it to wait 2 hours and then turn off.

It turns off after 2 hours no matter if you program it or not.
To answer your question: No - turns off after 2 hours.

#8 Is the time readout backlit?

No, it is not. I love this coffee pot. Makes fantastic coffee.
