GE - General Electric JGS750EEF4ES Questions and Answers

#1 Does this model oven have a fan built in?

Yes, the gas convection oven has a fan that circulates heat for high-quality results. Also, the cooling fan for the electronics may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation.

You'll love your color choice. Slate appliances blend with today's premium kitchen materials. The rich matte appearance naturally hides fingerprints and smudges to maintain its beauty. Explore our Slate Appliances: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/slate-appliances.htm

#2 How long does the oven take to preheat to 400*?

Gas Ovens take approximately 15-20 minutes to preheat. Many newer ranges have a Preheat that will signal when the oven has reached a temperature hot enough to add food, rather than when the set temperature is reached. Typically the range will signal after about 7-12 minutes, depending of the temperature you set.

We test our ranges with prepackaged foods, frozen pizzas, baked goods, etc. We put the items in at the beep, and get good results. This can help save time in the kitchen, since you are not waiting longer for the preheat than necessary, in most cases.

Recipes can differ, as can a food's preheat requirements. Most foods we tested don't require additional oven heating, though there are always exceptions. If you're finding a recipe isn't cooking properly, then you may want to turn on the oven a little bit before you start your food preparation to give it a little more time. You can also remove unused racks when using the oven for faster preheat, improved efficiency, and optimal performance.

Factors that will affect the preheat time are:
Selected temperature (every 25 degree increment above 350 set temperature will add approximately 45-60 seconds to preheat time)
Starting temperature of the oven
Room temperature
Number of racks in the oven (each additional rack will add approximately 30 seconds to preheat time)
Below 105 volt (gas installation)
