Neff D87E21N1GB/04 Questions and Answers

#1 How do I clean the activated carbon/charcoal filters in my hood?

Activated carbon/charcoal filters cannot be cleaned or washed – they must be replaced. Activated Carbon Filters are used to neutralise odours when your hood is recirculating air around the kitchen. Carbon filters should be replaced when they are noticeably dirty or discolored (usually every 6 to 12 months, depending on hood usage). Tested and approved filters can be ordered directly from us.

#2 How do I clean the anodised aluminum surfaces on my extractor hood?

Wash with hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry. Mild detergents and cleaning agents are acceptable. Do not use powdered cleaners, abrasive cleaners, scrubbers, or steel wool pads.

#3 How do I clean the metal grease filter in my extractor hood?

Remove the filters according to the instructions in the Use & Care Guide. Drain and wipe all excess grease with a dry paper towel. Soak the filters in hot water and detergent and gently brush in the water to loosen food particles. Do not use products containing ammonia, abrasives or oven cleaners. Rinse the filters and let them dry before placing in the extractor hood. Filters may also be cleaned in an automatic dishwasher (please do not include any other items or cutlery in the wash). Washing the filters in a dishwasher may result in slight discoloration. You can spray them beforehand with our tested and approved Degreaser for even better results. We recommend grease filters be cleaned every 1-3 months depending on usage.

#4 How do I clean the stainless steel surfaces on my extractor hood?

Wipe with the grain when cleaning stainless steel. Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent or stainless steel cleaner with a soft cloth. Wipe dry to avoid water marks. Warning: Some stainless steel cleaners are known to have negative effects on materials other than stainless steel. Make sure to apply stainless steel cleaner to stainless steel components only! Tested and approved Stainless steel conditioning cloths and cleaner can be ordered from us. The cloths are food-safe and can be used on surfaces which are in contact with food.

#5 How to remove grease from stainless steel surfaces?

Remove any deposits with our tested and approved Stainless Steel Cleaning Powder. This will remove dirt and spillages without damaging the surface. Make sure the powder is used on a damp cloth as a ‘paste’ and wipe along the grain of the metal. This product can be ordered from us.
