PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE
SLOW ICE CUBE •Door may have been left open.
FREEZING
•Turn temperature of freezer compartment colder.
ICE CUBES HAVE •Old cubes need to be discarded.
ODOR/TASTE
•Ice storage bin needs to be emptied and washed.

•Unsealed packages in refrigerator and/or freezer compartments may
be transmitting odor/taste to ice cubes.
•Interior of refrigerator needs cleaning. See Care and Cleaning.
AUTOMATIC •Icemaker feeler arm in STOP (up) position.
ICEMAKER
•Water supply turned off or not connected.
DOES NOT WORK
•Freezer compartment too warm.
(on some models)
•Piled up cubes in storage bin may cause icemaker to shut off too soon.
With icemaker feeler arm in STOP (up) position, level cubes in bin.
SMALL OR •Water filter clogged. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and
HOLLOW CUBES install plug.
(on some models)
CUBE DISPENSER •Icemaker turned off or water supply turned off. Turn on icemaker
DOES NOT WORK or water supply.
(on some models)
•Ice cubes are frozen to icemaker feeler arm. Remove cubes and move
the feeler arm to the ON (down) position.
•Irregular ice clumps in storage container. Break up with fingertip
pressure and discard the remaining clumps.
•Freezer may be too warm. Adjust the freezer control to a colder
setting, one position at a time, until clumps do not form.
WATER HAS POOR •If the water dispenser has not been used for a long time, dispense
TASTE/ODOR water in regular manner until all water in the system is replenished
(on some models) with fresh water.
WATER IN FIRST • Allow about 24 hours for water to cool to proper temperature after
GLASS IS WARM refrigerator is first installed.
(on some models)
•If water dispenser has not been used for a long time, water in first
glass will not be as cool as in succeeding glasses.
•If the water system has been drained, allow several hours for
replenished supply to chill.
WATER DISPENSER •Water supply line turned off or not connected.
DOES NOT WORK
•Supply line may be clogged with sediment.
(on some models)
•Water filter clogged. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and
install plug.
•If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is first installed, there
may be air in the water system. Press the dispenser pad for at least two
minutes to remove trapped air from the water line and to fill the
water system.
