If you mean the cover to the glass carafe ours is attached to the carafe and so slides under the dispenser. I know that the cover is elevated but if you angle it when putting it on the burner, it will fit. The top seems to have grooves for lowering/ raising the height although we have never used that feature.

This model does not have a timer. There are two switches. One selects the brew size, and the other is power. Put water and coffee grounds in it, set the brew size switch, and turn on the power.
