9 Repeat the self-clean process if the iron still contains a lot of impurities.
Cleaning the exterior of your iron
Turn the temperature control dial to OFF, then unplug the iron and let it
cool down completely. Deposits and other residues on the sole plate can
be removed with a cloth soaked in a vinegar/water solution.
The casing may the wiped with a damp cloth and then polished with a dry
one.
Storing your iron
1 Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and set the steam control
knob to 0 (no steam).
2 Unplug the iron.
3 Pour any remaining water out of the water reservoir.
4 Stand the iron upright and let it cool down completely.
5 Wind the power cord around the iron.
6 Always store the iron in an upright position.
Auto shut-off
In the unlikely event that the thermostat fails, the protective cut-out turns
of the iron off after 30 seconds (horizontal position) or eight minutes
(vertical position) to protect it from overheating. If that occurs, the iron
should be taken to the nearest authorized service facility.
Secure cord retraction
Lets you safety retract you power cord without a whipping effect.
1 Pull out the length of cord you want before plugging your iron into an
electrical outlet. Do not pull cord past the red indicator.
2 To retract the cord, hold the iron with one hand and grab the end of
the cord with the other hand. Use the cord prongs to press the Retract
button. Failure to hold the end of the cord may cause it to whip
around.
3 If the cord does not fully rewind, pull it out and guide it evenly onto
the reel.
Note
In addition to a self-clean function, your iron features an
anti-scale cartridge, which reduces scale deposits in the iron and
prolongs its operational life. The anti-scale system is an integral
part of your iron and does not require any maintenance.
Notes
Never use any abrasives to clean the sole plate.
Keep the sole plate smooth. Avoid contact with metal
objects.
